Bought one of these to widen the pot holes in my Schecter.., Don't know why I never bought one? I had followed Youtube tutorials on how to widen pot holes using sand paper and something like a dowel but I have to say that method doesn't come out as cleanly and takes longer.. I don't know why I just didn't buy one of these in the first place? You simply insert the reamer into the hole (ha-ha laugh it up) and gently turn it. The hole stayed perfectly round , no chipping or no damage. 5 or less minutes later it was done ( I moved slowly to avoid widening the hole too much) . I'm very happy and this is an incredibly useful tool if you mod guitars.

Works well and seems to stay sharp for a while. Good cutting edge. Note that it cuts in one direction only. I suggest using masking tape or similar to keep the handle in place so it doesn't fall out while in use. Otherwise it'll fall out (and possibly ding the floor or working surface). Don't ask how I know.

When I received the reamer and examined the flutes, I noticed the the grinding of the flutes was pretty rough. That made me skeptical about how the reamer would cut. I used it to expand the tuning machine holes on a maple guitar neck and it worked fine for that purpose. As others have said, the cross handle is not attached which makes it easier to store the tool but can be annoying in use. The handle fell out three times when I did the six tuning machine holes. If I was going to use this more, I would probably throw a piece of duct tape on the handle to hold it in place. Alternatively, I'd flatten one end of the handle so that it wouldn't fall out in that direction but still allow the handle to come out for storage.

T Handle missing. Not worth the hassle to return, even if it's no hassle. I guess I could run a 4mm allen wrench through it to use as a handle to turn this. Also, the 5 cutting edges are all chipped and dull. China must have used the worst metal and/or process to make this tool. The product image on the amazon page is really just a computer graphic (CG) from the the autocad design software; the cutting edges of the tool in the image are not what I received. I've no high hopes to widen holes on harder materials. I'm a 1 time user buyer, but if you need something for a lot of jobs, find a different one. Hoping it will still work ok, but won't know until next week when another project item arrives.

Great option for cutting a hole to a precise measurement between drill bit sizes. Used it on a medium guage aluminum and it worked like a charm. Definitely recommend.

I needed this tool for reaming out some holes on a new acoustic guitar bridge I was putting on. I looked for it at many of my local retailers and most people/places had no idea what a tapered reamer was. I am so glad I was able to find it here. The reamer works very well. Note of caution: be very careful because the edges are razor sharp and can cut you easily. The only think I wish it had come with would be some type of sheath to keep it in when not in use. I ended up wrapping it in plastic when I was done so I could leave it in my tool box without worrying about it cutting me.

Works and does what it should. But the handle is a pain, it’s not locked in so it constantly falls out while your trying to use it. I ended but using a punch and hammer while it was centered to smash the edges of each side of the handle to keep it from falling out

its decent pretty sharp fits nice and reams holes decently dont grab or tear just turns smooth and gives me a good control while reaming bridge repairs and when glue or the fit is a bit off etc. nice reamer and very good price.
