This is my favorite garden tool. It's extremely sturdy. It won't fall apart, and it won't rust. It holds up well to constant use, even in my soil which is mostly clay. In the past, I've used cheaper hand trowels that bend over time, or the handle falls off, or it rusts. Having used my Radius transplanter for over a year now, I know it will last for the rest of my gardening years.I spend a lot of time in my flower gardens, and I needed a good tool that was comfortable to use. That's the primary reason I wanted to try the Radius tools in the first place. I used to get sore spots in the palm of my hand if I did much digging with other hand trowels. The curved grip on this transplanter is ideal. My days of painful palms are over, now that I have this tool. It's just a pleasure to use.I also have the Radius hand trowel and the weeder, but this transplanter is the one tool I reach for 9 times out of 10. I know they call this a transplanter, but I use it for most of my garden chores that require a hand trowel. I like using this transplanter more than the hand trowel because the blade is longer, so I can dig a deeper hole. That's especially important when planting flower bulbs in the autumn. I should also mention that the blade on the transplanter is narrower than the blade on the hand trowel. So, if you prefer a trowel with a blade that is shorter but wider than this transplanter, then you'll want to buy the Radius hand trowel instead.I've used many different hand trowels over the years, but this is the best one I've ever used. Yes, it's more money than some other garden hand tools, but because it won't rust or fall apart, I think it's worth the extra money. And that curved handle makes gardening easier than it was before because it gives me the leverage to dig much easier than I could with other hand trowels. If you're going to try just one of the Radius garden tools, I highly recommend this one as your first Radius purchase. If you have a garden friend, buy this for them. They will never stop thanking you. Like I said... this is my favorite garden tool. I guess that's the highest compliment a gardener could give a tool.

So, I have thumb & wrist issues that get cortisone. I also have a damaged/pinned ankle that barely bends, and use a cane mainly for balance and bending. So when I saw this, it seemed like it might help with my grip, but that digging the weeds out would still be super tough... Boy was I wrong with the last thought!!This thing actually feels nice in your hand so the way you can hold the tool isn't completely horizontal. The curved grip is bigger than expected, so I could choose how/where I wanted to hold it. Then I tried to dig up a large weed, in super dry/dense soil. Omgosh, this thing went into the ground WAY easier than I thought since I can only use one hand to dig and the other on cane for balance. & this is where I also really noticed the ergonomics of the tool. Not only does it cut into the ground without a ton of force, but the handle lets you bend it back pretty easy which raises it up. Some weeds were large and I had to dig around it in about 3 places. The roots come out as well. It was so easy and fascinating that my mom laughed me as I kept saying "wow" moving from weed to weed quickly.I LOVE this thing. After my first use I came back and ordered the whole set!

If I could only have one garden hand tool - this would be it!Bought this at a local garden shop 12 yr ago, & just bought more for gifts. It's perfect for regular weeding, and rooting dandelions, small starter trees etc.It penetrates an old layer of mulch easier, and is a great pry bar (within reason)when weeds are close to edging. It's strong, one piece molded aluminum which stands up to quite a lot of pressure.> The ergonomic handle is actually comfortable.> The round handle is 1 1/4" dia, with the outside being a semi-soft rubber.> The couture shape of the handle lets the hand be at a normal, horizontal angle, unlike regular tools, where your hand is in an uncomfortable, vertical position. The over all length is 14 1/2". With a 6" supple handle, and 8 3/4" digging spade. The tip of the spade is 1" wide, and at 5" up is still only 1 1/4" wide. That narrowness makes it easy to sink the tool deep, which in turn isn't as tiring on the hand.PhotosPry the tool against the brick edging for yrs without issueOld & new tool = The original has been used so much that we've worn over 1/4" off the tip.

This is the best trowel I own. The top edges are great for cutting vines, deadheading flowers and trimming small shrubs. So sturdy.

I have had this trowel for years and years. It seemed indestructible but then I used it to pry pieces of a stump apart (which I knew was risky) and sure enough...the pressure broke the tip off! So I was very pleased to see it was still available...and affordable. I highly recommend it to gardeners and be assured it will withstand lots of punishment. But it is not an axe, after all :-) I couldn't do without it.

je cherchais un modèle qui ne plairait pas entre la poignée et la spatule. Celle-ci semble solide

Das Werkzeug ist für viele Gartenarbeiten sehr behilflich.Könnte allerdings bisschen breiter sein.

Excellent tool. I have found Radius Tools to be the best hand gardening tools on the market: practical, ergonomic (which really does make a notable difference) and high quality.
