Works great on Pacific Northwest ice and snow! A little goes a long way. Quickly clears our two flights of stairs without damaging the congrete or hurting little paws and plants.

We sprinkled this on the driveway when the sun couldn't reach the icy part of the partially melted snow and ice. It was gone within minutes. Were able to play square ball in the driveway within maybe five minutes. Days when no melting had occurred, we found this product to be very efficient in melting the ice. The mildness for our dog's paws is of extreme importance to us. When we walked her past other homes where other products had been used, we noticed that her paws became very irritated and she licked them alot. If we kept her near our home, that did not happen.

Let me begin with the positive. This is great salt for those with pets. My dog's paws were very sensitive to all the other brands I've previously purchased. This does not give him that same sensitivity. So for his sake - this salt is amazing.I would say it melts at the same speed and temperature as the others. And little does go a long way which is great because this is not cheap salt.Time will tell if this stains or impacts my concrete after a full season of use. But so far, after about 3 weeks of daily use it seems ok.Here is my biggest complaint and why I took one star away. The bucket lid was impossible to remove. I broke the tab as instructed but the lid would not come off. After about 15 minutes of trying to rip, pry, tug, etc. and a few choice curse words I gave up. I cut a hole in the top and transferred it to a different bucket with a lid that I had. Maybe I got a defective one though. Of course it definitely makes the bucket puppy proof as well; just unfortunately human proof too 🙄.

I was worried that my dog would get a rash from sitting on commercial salt on our walkway, so I bought this brand. My winter loving dog can spend long periods on this salt without any negative impact to its coat or paws.

I have new concrete this winter and because of this I didn't want to use salt because it is harmful to new concrete. I was under the impression that this was something other than rock salt, and would be safe for new concrete. What I got looks like regular rock salt with some gravel in it. It did melt ice, but didn't have any red color as advertised. I think this is overpriced if it's just rock salt.
