The specially engineered, upgraded Contour Tuning brackets boast inverted, recessed tuning hooks that easily tune the drum. There's also a high density rubber molded bass for damage protection and no sliding while playing. This 22 x 12 inch Apex Djembe sports a synthetic Remo Sky deep beige drumhead that will stay in tune in almost all weather conditions. The Sky deep head also features a small removable Sound Control foam dot under the drumhead. This feature enables the drum to produce less overtones, for a more focused and dryer "animal-like" bass tone as well as rich slap tones. I'm a gifted percussionist without professional practices. You can call me a random drummer. I keep this Djembe next to my my headboard and keep playing it whenever I get excited or bored or clueless. It sounds great in your naked ears or recordings. Skinless is another thing that I admire this Djembe for. You can keep it between your legs or thighs or on the lap while playing. Ando also you can tighten its sides for tighter, deeper sound. Moreover it is a free ride where you don't have to clean at all. There's a sticky base that comes along, you can stick it underneath inside the drum where you your fingers make frequent sound or beats. You can also change its head. This second tallest, widest Djembe in the range I believe. This is a custom kind of Djembe where only the pros invest in. I purchased it so I can play in the best one and ensure I don't complain the tool, find more ways to learn instead. 😊

Have owned many drums and musical instruments. This one is a keeper. Got a great deal from Amazon warehouse. Drum was brand new. Sounds fantastic. Great design.

Wifey always wanted one so I researched a bit and she couldn't be happier. Great tone. Easy to tune. Pro grade. You won't be disappointed. Plus it really is a cool looking model.

Light weight shell with very good synthetic head. Needs tuning with enclosed adhesives to product good quality sound but still inferior to hide heads. Remo manufacturer does not sell hide heads.

The drum arrived well packaged. It sounds pretty good for my use. Stylish print.The reason for the only 3 stars is because for the price it didn't even brings a stand. My friend purchased the same brand but larger and with a stand for a lot cheaper at a music store.

This is a great Djembe, but I received a used Djembe. The shipping box was original but had many deferent shipping levels. Also, no company information, item descriptions, nor information included in the box. So, I returned it and bought it from somewhere else. Now, the shipping box was new and have all information that need. It is a great Djembe. I gave 2 stars because of time I spent for return ing and buy from other place.
