I belong to a community drum circle and this will workout. I tried to reset settings so that Amazon can have access to my camera and so I could send a picture of the unboxing to show the condition of the drum top, soiled and dirty. Not sure if I'm supposed to clean it or leave it as is. It's disgusting.Anyway, the size I like a lot the value I just could not beat it and it's comfortable. It's not heavy so very portable. It doesn't appear you have to tune it right out of the box either. Other than the dirt it appears to be a quality product.

This drum was ordered as a gift for my wife, when arrived just now my wife immediately noticed that it did not have the sound It was expected to have. We have another similar Djembe That’s a higher quality for sure and it is around a 14 inch head. When we sat them beside each other, we quickly realized that this Toca could not be even 12 inches. Upon measuring the head, we found it to be closer to 10 1/2 inches. This of course, drastically reduces the depth of base from the drum. On top of that which I do understand is hard to control the head arrived very loose and flat sounding. Yes, it can be tuned, but that doesn’t change the fact that it’s advertised to be something other than it is in the sense that it was advertised as a 12 inch head and it’s closer to a 10 inch head. Buyer beware 😡.Now we have to return this and waste time placing another order because we cannot trust things to be as advertised on Amazon for the most part.Amazon could significantly reduce their overhead cost with returns by doing a much better job of qualifying the sellers.

This djembe is exactly what I was looking for! Perfect sound, perfect shape, size, and weight. I love the color too.My only complaint is that, as another reviewer pointed out, the drum head looked dirty coming out of the box (see photos). Not sending it back, maybe happened in the stretching process?
