Don't Get Stuck Without Air Conditioning or Heat in Your Truck!

blower motor and fan for dodge ram and jeep grand cherokee

No air or only a slight breeze coming from your vents?

If you're experiencing no air or only a slight amount of air from your truck's vents your factory motor has likely failed.

The blower motor consists of a motor and a fan and produces air, just like a ceiling fan in your house. If the motor fails or if the fan blades get damaged the result is decreased or no air coming from your AC vents.

Turning up your AC/Heat and getting the same amount of air?

When you turn up the AC/heat in your truck and see no change in the amount of air coming from the vents you likely need to replace your factory blower motor.

The blower motor is designed to produce more air as you turn up the knob on your AC system. However, when the blower motor fails the motor is no longer able to blow on high.

Took me a total of about 45 minutes to replace blower motor. Now some of that time was just stretching from body being contorted. Takes a little effort to get old blower out and new one in just because it is a tight spot. The screws aren't real easy to get at but with an 8mm socket and a 8mm wrench you can get them. I have read some reviews that say its noisy but I haven't found that to be true. Compared to oem replacement its a great value! Fit perfectly in my 2011 Ford F150.

My existing fan motor on a 2001 Dodge Ram1500 was working but with a lot of changing growling noises that started a year ago but got very bad. As I shopped on line and locally I found Amazon was half of the local auto parts stores and lower than on line stores and they didn’t offer free shipping. Watch a U Tuber vid. And the issue is getting the rear screw out. I had a flexible coil spring type screwdriver and put a Phillips #2 bit in it and was able with a little force get it to bend and take out that screw and put it back. As one of the videos showed put your hand up and clean out the area of debris. I found the coil to be very dirty an used my fingernails to clean off as best I could then used a spray can of AC evaporator cleaner foam. Putting a lot of foam on the coils then using my hand again to scrub. Best use a latex glove or wash your hands right away as I did. I had a 1” flexible hose off an oil funnel I removed from the funnel part and tapped it to my shop vac to suck out all I could of the debris. Then installed the new assembly and gave it a try. Except for the normal air flow noise the motor was silent. Perhaps a little better air flow too.Now onto changing out the driver side window motor assembly.

This part does not fit a 2012 F-150. It can be installed and will function for a short amount of time, but the turbine lacks a "step down" at the edge to fit correctly. So the fan rubs and causes friction, eventually leading to burning parts and/or blower motor catastrophic failure.

My only complaint is now it sounds like a vacuum cleaner. The noise isn’t overwhelming but it’s noticeable and the OEM never sounded like that

This is the third fan that I have had in my 2005 Dodge Ram. The last replacement unit was a low priced one that turned out to be very noisy and vibrated at the higher speeds. When I removed this fan from the box, I noticed it had been balanced with a small weight on one of the fins; a good sign. Fifteen minutes later it was installed and running. The fan was very quiet, no noticeable vibration at any speed and it felt like more air was coming out of the vents. This fan cost a little more, but in my opinion, well worth it.

this fan/motor is a direct replacement and makes a slight humming noise from new as the brushes need to "bed" to the commutator within the motor itself- once bedded the motor works flawless and doesn't make a sound. I noticed the motor run silent within a week of regular commuting plus you can't beat the price. The fan blows a great volume of air and does not even make sound on first 3 settings - as for any sound at highest settings it's trying to push a lot of air through convoluted and changing size ducts and vents... no difference from when van was new
