Would not fit over shaft had to machine the ID of the tool , tool would not grab seal without extreme force applied , the seal that came with the tool had wrong OD and would not stay in transmission Case had to order a CR seal that fit and stayed in case Atleast I only gave away a fee of my hard earned dollars

Getting a good one is hit and miss. First one just crumbled when it was screwed in.The second one needed the inside opening opened up a little to fit over the shift shaft.I have a die grinder with burr bits so it was no biggie to clean up this area. This time it worked perfectly. There’s not much else out there to choose from .If you have one shot to pull a seal, buy two and return one.

Use this tool on a turbo 400 transmission and worked perfect for removing the shift lever seal and came with a new one which was nice

It worked after I took a 1/2 drill bit to shave off some material from the center cause it wouldn’t clear the shaft due to the coating.

I wanted to listen to the reviews and not buy this but there are hardly any options for this tool and nowhere to get it except online. It was not wide enough to make it down to the seal.I planned on being careful with it from the reviews about breaking but couldn’t even get that far.

No me funcionó, por más que intente enroscar el retén, no lo pude extraer, terminé desarmando el selector desde adentro.

Don't hammer on seal remover tool or shifter shaft will get scored due to remover tool incorrect inside diameter. Also remover tool will break from hammeringI measured inner diameter of seal remover and found it was less than 0.50" by about .005" which means it would not fit over the 4L60e shifter shaft. I used a dremel tool to open it wider, then a 1/2" drill bit to confirm roundness, and finished off with sand paper. Make sure removal tool slides over shift shaft freely before proceeding4th gen Camaro '93-'02 has 2.0"-2.5" clearance from shift shaft end to tunnel wall so i used removal tool without the threaded bolt attached. I installed removal tool and used a 5/8" wrench turning clockwise while pushing wrench/tool into seal so tool threads would bite into seal. Then I attached 10" vise grips to 5/8" hex end of removal tool and seal came out after a couple of wiggles of the visegrip.Install tool & hammer will not fit in same tight space. I reamed out old seal & placed in front of new lubed seal then stuck three 5/8" I.D. flat washers over shift shaft. Put the nut on and tightened with 15mm wrench. Essentially pressing in the new seal in until it bottoms in bore which is about 1/8" below flush part of transmission case. When done loosen nut toss the three 5/8" I.D. flat washers and old seal then attach shift lever cable and nut with 15mm wrench
