This cage is EXCEPTIONALLY well made and perfect for praying mantises, butterflies, stick insects, etc. The extra zippered access at the bottom is its best feature. You can clean the insect's waste up or put food in without disturbing the insect. And unlike cheaper cages, this one does NOT have a "hidden" hole at the end of the zipper that you cannot see, but which you can put your finger right through. That hidden hole on competitors' cages allows the feeder insects (fruit flies, houseflies, crickets & roaches) that I feed to my mantises to escape from the cheaper competitors' cages. So don't even try to compare this to other cages on the market! None are as well made as this cage, which is why I keep ordering dozens of them. This cage never had a single escaped feeder insects like the cheaper cages I bought. I also like that the material at the bottom keeps moisture and debris from falling through onto the floor or the cage below. Cages with mesh bottoms can't do that. My ONLY complaint about this cage is personal: the really busy leaf pattern detracts from my enjoyment of watching my mantises and butterflies, and I like to watch my insects. It also makes it extremely hard to tell if there is mantis poop or diarrhea at the bottom or any leftover feeder insects that may be hiding amid the busy leaf pattern. The larger version of this cage that has the same features and is a much more pleasing plain green, but it is just too large (eats up too much space) for me to keep hundreds of mantises in my home, since each mantis requires its own cage. The cage washes up really well in regular laundry detergent and holds up well when housing even big mantises with big sharp claws, yet has soft enough sides that it won't damage delicate butterfly wings. On cheaper cages, the flexible metal framework has frequently broken through the fabric and made those cages unusable. That has never happened on a RESTCLOUD cage, and I have literally hundreds of mantises housed in various cages. This is the best cage on the market, and I don't typically write glowing reviews!

This is a perfect little habitat for caterpillars to tent & build their cocoons & for your little naturalists to observe butterflies or other insects or reptiles.It will help them learn to keep a respectful distance from their temporary pets.I buy these for my grandkids every summer so they can watch the Monarch caterpillars they collect morph into butterflies & then release themIt’s a very educational project.The habitat is a nice large size & very durable, but please remember it is made of netting & if treated with care should last several months. Ours last close to a year & then need to be replaced.

We used this to raise 2 caterpillars as they grew to monarch butterflies. The cage was easy to clean and really loved the lower and upper zippered areas

We got this to watch caterpillars and butterflies. It was so easy to use and be able to watch the caterpillars go into their chrysalis and then emerge as butterflies. Easy to clean also.

I gave this to my 5 year old to put bugs. It's just the right size for him to carry around the yard without being overbearing. It's sturdy and so far (after an entire day of being dragged around the yard) no holes have been torn in it. I love that it opens in two different places.

I have owned Insect Lore and now RestCloud products. The Insect Lore is more durable and their side door is bigger however for the price, the RestCloud is doing a fine job. I did not need a lifetime habitat and wanted to save some money. It was easier to find the stand alone habitat than buy the kit through InsectLore. I highly recommend the Insect Lore kit if you are raising butterflies.

Purchased two different butterfly enclosures this summer for two different sets of caterpillars we were raising. This butterfly home has better features than the other, the netting is smaller (we lost some baby caterpillars from the other one we bought because the netting was larger) and the zip opening at the bottom allows you to open and add anything to the home while chrysalises are being formed at the top. Great easy product!

Perfect for our Monarch butterfly project this fall. Easy to access and change out the leaves as well as clean the bottom. Grab a Monarch butterfly book to go along with it but it does give you some directions. It will make a good habitat next year too. Easy to make compact for storage. Its a net, so be careful with it, but it is more than sturdy enough for it’s use.
