I bought this as a gift for my 16yr old daughter who loves music (especially string instruments) and putting together advanced lego sets. She loved this! The finished product looks great and detailed, and it doesn't look like flimsy junk. From what I observed is that as she was putting it together, there are several tiny pieces and tools, so you need to be patient and careful. I remember looking at the instructions, and at first quick glance, they looked complicated to me.... but she completed it in afew hours without any struggles or complaints. (Not sure if I would have!). The finished product is a great piece, and I didn't realize it was actually a working wind-up music piece as well. However, it is not a toy, and would not recommend this for much younger children.I do plan on buying a few more of these in the future as gifts though.

Love the Rokr products. This one was a fantastic build. Intricate and precise yet not overly complex. Sounds fantastic and the movement is very elegant. Recommendation for any future readers, use the wax and make sure things are tight but not overly tight.Works extremely well. Great for the price.

Extremely well made! They should get 10 stars. A number of extra parts in case you break one of the fragile ones. I needed them for the cello body. Very fragile and break easy.BUT a good idea I'd forgotten about. Woodworkers steam wood to make it easier to bend without breaking. I have a humidifier putting out a lot of mist. Held the body side in the mist for a few moments. Made it very easy to bend without breaking.Did have a bit of trouble with gears binding, but this was the first model from them and it was not there fault. Was so impressed with the quality and very clear instructions.

This is a beautiful work of art. It is NOT easy to assemble and there are two reasons for that - (1) the instructions are difficult to figure out - there are pictures and a very little bit of explanation, but it's not quite enough. I did find some of these assemblies on You Tube to help as well - but do not be fooled into thinking that you can put one of these together in 4 and a half hours... AND (2) THE PIECES ARE TOO BIG! I cannot emphasize this enough. I am in the process of putting together my third one of these and I finally figured out that you have to file every piece that interlocks with another. I was actually using tiny hammers to force these into their slots - which caused me to break several pieces. So, the first one is tenuously put together for all the breaks and I gave up on the second one. Now that I am filing every interlocking piece, they fit snugly enough and they are not forced and no more breakage of those flimsier pieces. And I'm not talking about the little scraps of filing paper they give you, I got a fairly heavy duty nail file and I file every single piece. Amazing what a difference that makes.

Fun! Make sure you pay attention to the placement of the arrows. That will make shifting the gears easier.

This was my first rokr puzzle kit and it is incredibly intricate and requires a lot of patience. I really appreciated the detailed instructions and how they put exclamation points where the pieces are the most fragile and yes I did break a couple of pieces but there were extras. They also tell you exactly where to wax the gears which is appreciated but given the size of the stick of wax it's a bit difficult to get into the crevices of the gears if you're like me and concerned if you've used enough. I recommend using a small birthday candle or something along those lines because it'll fit easier. I didn't have any issues with the bow it moved as intended when i tested it out before I assembled the base. Overall I would most certainly buy another cello kit or even the piano kit as my next rokr adventure.

We gifted this to my Aunt and cousin and they had too hard of a time putting this together so they asked a friend to help. If you are really good at puzzles this is for you, if not, probably get something a little easier. But when the puzzle was finished it was beautiful and played amazing music.

Didn't expect this kind of quality and precision for the price . The Cello makes a great ornament and conversation piece. I will definitely check out more of their products.

I guess it’s not really a puzzle because it comes with instructions, it is exactly as advertised. If you can accurately follow instructions, this could be for you. Excellent build quality, it was a little expensive. It looks just like the picture and works.
