Worked very well. I had about 8 inches of ice covered with ten inches of snow. I threw a half dozen tablets into my roof valley and within 2 days I had several channels open down through the ice to the gutters. Mother Nature helped with a day or two of above freezing temperatures.

I live in Maine...but I had never heard of roof melt tablets! I think they would work better when the snow wasn't so deep to begin the process. They worked well as the snow pack diminished.

Look don’t get me wrong it melts ice. However it only melts ice in a puck shape lol. I threw about twenty of them into roughly a 6ft by 6ft square (two stories up can only get so accurate). Not a single piece of ice damn was melted. Sure I got a whole lot of circles melted in the snow. If you can place these on the ice you’ve got a great chance at melting the ice damn. I however took a garden hose hooked it to my water heater and melted my damns by tempting faith. I won this year.
