This is perfect for melting the snow and ice off the top of a camper, I’m sure it can be used for other roofs. Made well and easy to set up. Pretty much lay where you want plug it up.

Have used it once after some rain and it dried up the end of the roof faster than the rest, will be testing it better when I get some snow, will be updating it soon.

With the clip options and a good length of heater the applications are numerous. I'm using it for my RV, but it would definitely come in handy if the spigot freezes again, always a pain. The wire is thick and solid with a heavy duty plug. Overall, nice

I finally got out on the roof to put this in place. I uncoiled it carefully, while on the roof, paying particular attention to lay this out in a straight manner. The kit includes shingle clips and hangers. I used the shingle clips and wove this back and forth in the area of concern on my roof. I wish there would have been more shingle clips.(My package did not come with the promised 45 clips.) I didn't even use the hangers. I left this with the plug close to a window, with enough wire to bring in the plug and connect it when I need to warm my roof. The wire has stayed in place on my roof. I look forward to plugging this in when I need to melt the problem ice and snow. I will update this review after the Minnesota winter dumps on my roof. The $51 price tag for my 80 foot cable seems perfectly appropriate f this works when I need it to.

Product Packaging: Retail packaging.Product Experience: Made of plastic material and wires. Tested by cooling the cable in the refrigerator since it was summer. The self-regulating sensor enabled as designed and maintained the temperature to about 62-ish degrees. This product is perfect for long RV underbelly pipe runs or for roofs for snow and ice melt.Pro: Product ItselfCon: None YetOverall: Recommended

It’s still hot outside, so I don’t know how well the freeze protection works. But I’ll find out soon enough.

Edited review: This is an edited review, I got it wrong on my first review of this product because I was not aware of how this heating cable worked. I was trying to review this product in 70* weather and was unaware that it has a sensor that detects temperature and turns the cable heating element on when the temperature falls below 44*. So, to test and review this product I had to get a bit creative. I plugged the cable into an extension cord and then put the whole cable in my freezer. And voila, the cable got warm. I love that this cable has a sensor to detect the temperature and turn it on and off as needed. This is great! I can leave this cable hooked up during the winter and not worry about it being on when the temperature is above 44*. I am glad the company reached out to me to explain how the cable works. This cable has exceeded my expectations and I can truly recommend this for those needing a great heated cable.old review, before I learned how cable actually worked:I ordered this 80 ft. De-icing heating cable to keep ice from forming in hoses and pipes in the winter. I plugged it in and it's been plugged in for 5 hours now and I have not noticed any warmth on the cord at all. The light comes on at the plug but no warming of the cable. Maybe it's because it's warmer inside, about 70 degrees in the house, and it only heats up to lower than body temp. which I can not feel. So, I will try this when the temperature dips below freezing to see if I notice any warmth coming from the cable. I will update my review at such time.
