I have been looking and looking for a simple, yet effective paper towel holder. How hard could it be to find one you ask? Such a simple purchase, yet so complex. I looked and looked and read review after review. Spent way too much time on this, but they all seemed to have the same issues of the sturdiness of the unit or the paper towels don't fit. I purchased a couple of those and had the same issues as other reviewers, so back they went to Amazon. I saw this Rustic Industrial Pipe Design unit and it had zero reviews. I thought, hey I could probably just make that myself, but who has time for that, so I went ahead and purchased it. I absolutely love it, as much as you can love something like this. It's sturdy and well made. The pole/pipe screws into the base from the top and it's a tight fit, so no more wobbly poles when you're trying to rip your paper towels off the roll. There are little feet on the bottom of the wood block, so no sliding around or scratching the counter. I buy the member's mark paper towels and they fit perfect. For the price, you are getting a great quality, very functional paper towel holder. If this fits your decor, go for it! You won't regret it!

This is a well made holder for the price. The base is a little big so I used it on the counter and got another one (narrow base) for the dining table.

As far as the felt pads for the bottom, I did not receive what was pictured. Instead of 4 pads that could go in each corner, I received ONE square 1 inch by 1 inch pad. That is absolutely useless to have one tiny pad for the bottom of the paper towel holder.
