This item was just as described and shipped fine to me.Another review stated they had problems with the shipping, and it sounded like the seller tried to make it right. But I had no problems with the shipping.For the price, you can't go wrong! When I bought this, it was a little over ten bucks delivered to my door. It screwed on to my poles easy and is made strong enough to do the job. They only problem I had is it didn't fit into my specific stove pipe? The 8 inch model worked perfect for me in my 8 inch pipe. But when I get to the part in the pipe where it downsizes to 6 inches this 6 inch cleaner will not fit. I'm almost sure it has something to do with my specific piping, so this does not reflect the product. I'm going to use heavy wire cutters and try to make it a little smaller to fit since the 8 inch one worked so well.Keep your stove pipe clean, and stop a chimney fire from happening. Also save yourself cash and do it yourself... but be careful up there.

Some reviews indicated it was too tight/snug to run both ways. I didn't have that problem. Fit the pipe perfectly and cleans really well. Was able to "pop" the brush and run both ways!

The Diameter of this brush is right at 6 3/4 inches, that and the amount of bristles makes it almost impossible to use on my 6 inch black stovepipe, too much surface area causes too much friction. I ended up cutting down the diammeter of the center 3 inches of the length of the brush to 4 inches in diameter. This still provided more that adequate bristles to clean the pipe, and reduced the friction to be able to slide the brush back and forth.

My review is for the online description for this product, rather than for the product itself. We have a wood-fired oven with a metal flue. We need to clean it after a year of use. We selected this product based on its description and the online reviews (didn't actually read them all, but noticed the high ratings for this product). When it arrived, we immediately saw that the packaging states that THIS brush is for use on a masonry flue. It is described as "stiff, oil tempered wire". Apparently there is a sister product that is a poly brush for use on metal flues, which is what we have. For the price, I cannot justify sending this back for a refund. We have already ordered the correct (hopefully) replacement, but Amazon and the manufacturer need to work on the description for this item and add that it is only for use on masonry flues. I'd hate for people to be buying this thing and then scratching the insides of their chimney flues so that they now collect more of the creosote and other items. So by giving this item a low review, hopefully it will catch the eye of another unsuspecting buyer who can then be careful about buying the CORRECT BRUSH. This is the second round chimney brush I have bought for our home. The first served us well for 28 consecutive years. It does an excellent job. FYI: We have a metal chimney and there has been no damage caused by using the wire brush.
