The part was exactly what I needed for our RV furnace. Installation took 5 minutes.

Could not find a sail switch that would work with my RV furnace. Most sails are made of steel, this one is made of aluminum and was light enough to work properly.

Says compatible but it is not. Just like other reviews say, the internal spring is too strong and the furnace cannot engage the switch. It works fine if I hold it closed (plugged into furnace but not installed in the blower cage). I've tried two others that also say compatible with the same results. Original oem part has an aluminum blade and moves with a breath. It is discontinued by atwood, apparently they want you to buy a new furnace for lack of a $20 sensor.
CustomerAn excellent impossible to put down book.

Item received in a timely manner. Although the part was not the basis of my problem it worked fine . It was worthwhile using it to replace the older switch.

After reading other reviews I was a bit worried this wouldn't work. According to my documentation I have an Atwood AFMD25. (The sticker on the motor shows AFMD30 though?) Anyway, I wanted to buy a spare sail switch especially considering they are not so easy to come by. When this sail switch arrived I compared it to my original switch and they are physically identical in appearance. I held a magnet to the metal fin and it did not stick so I believe it is aluminum as it should be. One thing I noticed is there is no doubt the new one takes a bit more pressure to activate the switch. I went ahead and installed it. When I turned the fan by hand it rubbed a bit on the metal fin so I removed it, bent the fin slightly then reinstalled it. No more rubbing so I tried the furnace. It didn't detect the fan was running so the propane did not come on. I removed the new switch and straightened the fin and installed it again. This time it didn't rub so it must have been just barely rubbing the first time around. I started the furnace and this time the propane came on. I tried this a couple of times and it appears to be working properly. I'll leave the new switch installed and keep my old one as a backup. I think the price is a bit high at $34 considering what you get but then, if the furnace isn’t working most of us would be happy to pay a lot more. I’m happy with the this switch! (Note: the switch in the pictures is my old one - looks the same though)
