Our new-to-us 2005 ES330 had a dead hood strut and holding the hood up was a real chore while trying to look around under the hood. This one was the exact dimensions of the factory one and installation was a breeze. Use a flat blade screw driver to pop the clip off the old one on the portion that connects to the hood and the lower portion by the strut tower pops off by hand. Pop the new one in place near the strut tower and then lower the hood until the upper portion snaps into place. Really helps to have a second pair of hands while doing this job. We will see how long it lasts now...

Item was exactly what I needed for my pick up bed cover and installed nicely. The only reason it was not rated 5 stars was the fact the clip does not match the shock on the other side, therefore I am saying it is a cheaper ball clip. Recommended.
