Perfect fit on my 2000 Ford Explorer. Installation takes about five minutes. Just remove the clips on each end of the old units and push the new ones on. Simple. It is so nice now not having to prop up the hood with a piece of wood, or your arm, while performing the work.I placed the order with Amazon on Friday morning, it shipped two hours later from Kentucky on UPS Ground, and it arrived on Monday in Texas. If you want faster service than that, then see if they have it at your local auto supply store, and pay them 50% more.

So in asking if there were a total of 2 in the package and being told yes there would be 2 I received my item with an already opened container inside the box, which held only 1 support lift... I guess I was again misinformed on the contents

just an oddity to point out. fits my 2000 Ford Explorer fine, except you must install 180 degrees opposite of the original. the ball socket diameters on the ends are reverse of the original. not a functional problem, just took me a couple of minutes to figure it out. the hood and firewall sockets are different diameters, so the new strut will only fit one way.

Don't put up with a hood or hatch that doesn't stay up, life is too short, and you may get busted in the head from a jury rigged prop rod. These go on super easy, but like others say, they go on backwards from the originals.

wrong part was sent to me and only one when i ordered two.but it worked out perfect these parts you sent me just happen to go for the front hood.and i needed them also.so it turned out to be a win,win for us.thanks
