The rectangular whistles are all good. The round ones had 40% failure rate out of the package. However, if you adjust the small white plastic inside the circular tube (right orientation and right depth), it works just as well as the rectangular ones. This indicates that the manufacturing consistency and quality check are lacking. After adjustment, I only had to throw away one round due to the whistle being deformed.

The positive about this variety pack is that it's inexpensive and you get a handful of whistles. The negative is that you need the handful of whistles to find the one that works well and that you will end up using. Quality is somewhat lacking so some whistles work well while others are lackluster. For the price you can't go wrong as long as you're not expecting all of the whistles to work or sound the same. The tones are all slightly different and there's no way to know which ones will work well until you blow into them.Overall, I really only needed a couple of them to work well so they accomplish that goal. Durable metal body construction means they should last for a while.
