I purchased this along with another major brand. I dont know if this is a knockoff or a major player... however in comparision this is by far a way better product in both manufacturing quality, design, value and just general all around value! It adjust perfectly for all shiplap thicknesses(common sizes) all in one product. It adjusts much better, fits better and holds the boards better in every aspect. The other brand did not line up properly and the boards would fall behind the set reveal distance and if not caught in time causes major issues, wasted time and money, this product eliminates that issue all together due to the tension design. I would absolutely recommend this over any others i have seen or tried. Time will tell but i think this will outlast the others as well... being made of all aluminum or steel rather than polycarbonate or plastic and rubber

Great product. Hung a bunch of 12ft siding boards alone and couldn’t have done it without these. Solid aluminum construction that can take a few hammer taps without breaking. Word of advice, make sure you adjust the width to the proper thickness siding as well as the height. I skipped the width at first and had a difficult time fitting 1/2†siding until I did. Would buy again if I had a need for more than 2.

I used these for all my straight cut boards, and they worked fine, easy to make a 2 person job into a 1 person job, but the settings didn't always stay, so lesson learned to crank down the set screws. Using them at the bottom was a little hard. Used them for all the straight cuts. When I did the gable ends it was easier to not use them and just mark the boards and push them up to where they were snug with the gable rafter.

Tried the other plastic ones. These ones are waaaay better. Fully adjustable and the DO NOT fall off.72 yrs old and doing my own siding on home and they are a life saver.

I purchased these when I found out the insurance company was not going to insure me unless all of my siding (I'm putting siding over existing siding) was installed. Being at the end of the money for the project, I decided to give these a try. Super easy, and allowed me to get the smart siding up in time, all by myself! I'm having a little problem with the tension releasing on one. I just use a flat head screwdriver to get it unstuck. On the other one, I can't seem to get it cranked tight enough to move. Both of these problems developed over time, though. They worked perfectly at the beginning of the project.

I been installing siding for over 10 years. I always use the lizard brand , the green ones. (If you know , you know). I'm always looking for new tools. Decided to try it out. Here is my feedback.Pros. Full metal construction, rigid, fully adjustable, it can be used in just about any thickness of siding. When you lock it, it doesn't move.ConsWhen you unlock it, the springs make it a bit difficult to slide under for the next run.Over all, I'm happy with it. It replaced a lot of my lizard 🦎🦎 . Now all I need is one. As a professional, I recommend it, you can spend 50-70 $$ for each set of the 🦎🦎🦎, made of plastic than only fit one size, or buy this one, aluminum, adjustable to most sizes for much less.
