I had to do some serious concrete removal, to do floor prep for tile on 2 separate areas that were previously separated by a wall during remodel. I had an old worn out one and wanted new to clean up the thin set from the removed tile. Great job cleaning the thin set. I had to grind down as much ad 1.5 inches in some spots.1/3 inch or less, I just used the grinding wheel. for the higher areas I made a level jig, and scored it with a 14" diamond blade and jack hammered some out. I'm not sure if that saved my time or not as the grinding wheel did very well. The score lines gave me a achieved depth indicator.I bought 2, as the price was right, but I'm not even close to wearing out the first, after "days" of grinding.it performed very well. It's definitely not a job for the feint of heart. The price was way better any any box store or harbor freight alternative. For minor leveling and cleaning up removed tile thin set residue this made short work of it. I tried a dust collector which was a waste of time. A helper with a light mist from a hose worked great keeping the dust down and did not make much of a mess.

Using this to clean up mortar from where the contractors built a cinder block wall too high. After knocking the block loose and removing it, this does a great job of getting rid of the extra mortar. Two words of advice though. When using it, try to position the wheel to "come off" an edge, not spinning where it could catch an edge. Second, do it on a breezy day, or wear a mask. The ground mortar will create a cloud that lingers around you, or at least use a cheap, junky fan. Can't comment on longevity yet, as I have only cleaned up about 20 feet of block, but even after that, the disc shows no wear.

I had to grind my entire concrete patio to fresh concrete in order to resurface it. Bought the Bauer 7" diamond grinder from Harbor freight for $40. It was worn out after about 20% (150 SF) of the 750 SF patio was done. Bought 4 of these thinking if they are only $25 each, they would not last as long as the HF version. I ground the rest of the patio (650 SF) with ONE of these, and it hardly looks worn down. If you need to grind concrete these are the bomb!
