Italian Large Leaf is a delicious variety of Basil, which produces large, green leaves. The leaves are about the size of your palm, and are loaded with flavor and fragrance as well. The plants of Italian Large Leaf Basil will grow to a height of 12" to 24" tall, and can spread 12" to 15" wide.

I ordered these seeds on June 10th, received them on June 11th and planted them that same day. I expected to wait 7 to 10 days for germination, so I was totally surprised when they began sprouting on the 3rd day! The photo of the seedlings shown was taken today, June 16th, so today is 5 days after planting. I placed them on my south-facing balcony when I planted them. It’s already very hot here in south Texas, so maybe that had something to do with the super fast germination. At any rate, I’m glad I purchased these seeds from this seller and am completely happy with my purchase.

This stuff is five times the size of the seeds I had last year. It is growing very well with enormous leaves.Felt compelled to edit my original review. The leaves on this are HUGE!!! I will buy this every year as long as I can. Only need a few of these to make pesto!

After buying many basil plants at the stores over the years, and having them go south early on, I decided to grow my own basil. BOY was I happy. Within days I had sprouts, and within a couple of weeks I had the most incredible basil I've ever seen. The leaves are large and plentiful. After several weeks I still have a lush, beautiful plant. I couldn't be happier with these seeds. I can't wait until next year to do this again. It has inspired me to grow my own tomatoes next year, too!!

I don't know what variety they gave me. You see for yourself. Still tastes pretty good.Germination rate was 50 to 60%. Growth was average.

This is not the dark green basil I was expecting. It’s a little bitter, when it grows. Much lighter in color than what I get at the store.
