Bought to replace the rub rail rope on my 1988 Bayliner boat. Perfect fit and seems of good quality. Very pleased

I have never purchased rope before, and I had expected that this product, made not from hemp but from fossil fuel derivative products, would be less than ideal for my purpose of moving a 1-ton magic boulder off of my property. But I was wrong, it worked out great. And if you melt the cut ends with your Bic lighter after cutting the line, and then squeeze the loose strands with your fingertips (ouch its a little hot), it's easier to tie knots when you need that end - your tagline (that's knot tying language).Anyhoo, I had a lot left over after I got that spooky boulder off the north-forty and onto a public highway, to get smashed by an 18-wheeler, so I cut myself 12' lengths to connect the front bumpers to the rear bumpers of cars in parking lots near me, where I could watch the fun commence using my Amazon Prime spy binoculars. In summary, a plastic rope is fine, but it will be more slippery when wet as compared to a natural rope. And I suggest the 1/2" size for most uses, rather than the 3/4" that I have been using. I've got big hands and fat fingers, so the 3/4" size was easy enough to tie knots with. - James "Time Travel Wish" Mason

I was worried that a synthetic version of manilla rope would look "fake" or would have a lot of unsightly strands sticking out and that it might be hard to work with but I was totally wrong to worry. The rope looks realistic and its nice and neat with no strings or strands sticking off like some of the natural fiber manilla rope. Its very easy to work with and easy to tie knots in. The color is natural looking and quite beautiful especially if you are an earth tone lover like I am.I purchased it to cover a support beam in our house tying knots to make it look like the pillars on a dock that they cover with rope. I unfortunately ordered the wrong width rope. I thought the nylon rope I started my project with was 3/8th inch but it may have been 1/2 inch because the UnManila was quite a bit thinner. I am returning the spool I have and am purchasing the 1/2 inch. I am anxiously awaiting its arrival (tomorrow) Its perfect for my project. I know it is going to make the ugly support column look great and enhance the looks of my great-room. I am thrilled that it will not absorb dirt and spills or stretch over time like natural fibers.

I'm using this to create a boundary fence along the front edge of some adjacent land. I've strung it through a set of two foot high posts I made out of 4x4's, spaced about fifteen feet apart. For that purpose it's working beautifully. It was easy to work with. So far it's holding up very well. And it looks good enough that I get compliments from my neighbors about it. And along with a couple of "Please be respectful" signs, with a red X through a squatting dog, I've turned what used to be a neighbor dog walker's destination into an area I can now walk through!

This is the second time we have ordered this product. This time was to add this rope to existing rope. The match was perfect, no shade difference from rope purchased 5 years prior. The original rope has held up as if it was new, no wear and tear or color change. The prior rope was flooded from a storm surge, and came through it without any changes in color, strength, or other feature. This product is durable, sturdy, great value for the money, and it looks like natural rope.

..as I used a ton of 1 1/4" and 1 1/2" jute rope around my property. I was stupid and didn't realize it had to be sealed using a wood sealer. So, it all rotted and eventually fell apart. I purchased more jute rope and sealed it this time, boy I am getting smart, however, it is still rope and will fall apart over time.I only needed a short piece to complete the project, so I bought this rope and was over-thrilled when I saw it wasn't Jute, but a makeshift copy of one that looks like it'll last a lifetime.I installed it (see pictures) and it was pretty easy to use. I had used a lot of waterproof heat-shrink tube to help isolate the wood from other wood, so I used it on this as well, to help hold it together at the ends. I used a standard heat gun to melt the ends, which is another awesome feature of this rope.THIS IS MY TOP CHOICE for my property from here on out, give it a go and be happy :)

It was a 3/8 rope, came a bit earlier than expected. Solid.

It has your typical polypropolene "feel"; not necessarily hand-friendly, so to speak. I use it for decorative rope projects; traditional fenders and the such where I am looking for a traditional "look". It is great for making grommets as it really holds its lay, but it lay-holding prowess memory, makes it challenging in some applications. If you want the same "look" AND a nice "feel" then you will have to spend more; e.g. New England Ropes "Vintage". Overall, it is priced right and holds up and looks great in some applications.
