the colors are helpful for remember which is the beginning of my round vs. other places I'm marking. I like that the pins are super thin so it doesn't interfere with my knitting consistency (others I've tried are too thick) but the bulb part accommodates all knitting needle sizes except like the super huge ones. but then you can just pin it to the fabric itself & move it as you knit more.
