The PEX-A pipes expand and contract as water freezes within the pipe making PEX-A pipes more resistant to burst pressure in freezing temperatures. The flexibility of PEX-A pipes allows the end to be fluted prior to inserting the fitting to accommodate expansion style fittings which provide less flow restriction and can increase water pressure where needed. These PEX-A coils feature a minimum working temperature of 33 degrees F at 160 PSI, a maximum working temperature 200 degrees F at 80 PSI, and a maximum working pressure is 160 PSI at 33 degrees F to 70 degrees F.

Love Pex. It's so easy to work with compared to copper and less expensive. This is type A which is more flexible than B and does require different fittings than Type B. However, you can use the standard Shark Bite push on fittings with either type.

I am fairly new to installing PEX and I saw this was PEX-A which should be the most flexible you are able to purchase. With the wall thickness for 1" PEX it really is not easily flexed at all. You cut the straps on the coil and it just stays in a coil. You have to work hard to start to straighten out the roll for use. I have to assume this is normal for all 1" PEX-A pipe. So, a little hard to work with, but still so much easier to install than copper pipe. When I purchased this it was the best price for 1" PEX-A I could find and I am very happy with the product.

I needed to run an underground water line about 150 feet to install a new outdoor faucet. This did the job well - all I needed to call the plumber for was to make the connections.

The hose was too firm could not Bend to straighten out the hose to maneuver into place. Had to purchase new pex-A hose locally to finish my job.

I purchased this sharkbyte pipe, and I had nothing but trouble with it from Day 1. I had to do some of the fittings over because they were leaking on the first attempt. This morning I went down to install an outside faucet and when I ran the cutter 2 turns around the pipe it cracked. Not at all happy with this purchase and I purchased a 100’ of it. Got me wondering if I should replace the pipe I already installed. I went down to the local hardware store and purchased some expansion pipe that looks like a clear pipe, never had a problem.
