No clear instructions on how to use included or online. Once it's working works pretty well. Used on a large dog with thick matted hair and it mostly went through with ease. I wish I knew how to adjust the tension properly for hair thickness. It's also large but not as loud as other reviews say. Would not use on small animals.

I honestly got these for my long haired dog who gets terrible mattes. No matter how often we brush her, she just has thick and curly hair that clumps in those areas. While these are meant for sheep..they work on her mattes making them easier to get out. I would not suggest shaving all of your dog with these, but they did well for the matted areas as long as my dog held still.

These sheers are no joke.They feel like they are commercial quality and you can tell even before you open the box. Have a sheep? Dog? Bigfoot? Or anything else with coarse hair that needs to be trimmed? This will do it.If oiled properly I bet this will last more than a few years with normal use.

I have a large Maine Coon cat with thick dense hair. She gets tons of mats and the regular clippers did not work on her. So, I bought these sheep shears to see if that would be better. It was not. They are very large and kind of loud for the cat. She is not happy with them at all. They did work to get some of the mats out but she would not tolerate it for very long. I think they would work better for what they are designed to do. Sheep.

This is a very heavy duty set of clippers. The shears come with two blades, a case, and tools for changing the blades. The product is fairly heavy in the hand and you can select variable speeds for shearing. The blades are made of two stainless steel pieces that rub against each other to shear the hair. These are well sharpened and cut smoothly.

This is a solid and heavy tool, good if you are already familiar with similar shears. The kit includes all you need to start shearing except for oil, it comes with an empty bottle for you to fill. It’s nice that it includes an extra set of blades so you can swap out before having to sharpen a set as they get dull.The little instruction booklet that comes with it is very basic, is printed in text too small to read without a magnifying glass and refers to figures that are not included. The figures printed show up as tiny squares with zero detail. Perhaps they were intended to be mouse clicked but no link to an online manual is included. This is why I only recommend these to an experienced shearer since you need to already know how to adjust tension and speed and how to change and oil the blades.The motor and blades do seem to run smoothly and the tension knob does what it should. None of my sheep are in need of shearing at this point in the season so I can’t test blade sharpness yet. I’ll post an update when I get a chance to run these through some fleece.

The Electric Sheep Clippers are great for shaving my poodle's thick coat. I have always had to take my dog to the groomer because I couldn't find a set of clippers that would go through her hair. These clippers have already paid for themselves after shaving her one time. They come in a nice carrying case and are easy to clean.
