This works very well for polymer clay but it is very loud. No rolling clay when people are sleeping. I do not know how durable yet as I've only had it for a month and a half. For the money, it's decent.

Love this machine! I use it to make polymer clay jewelry. I don’t know what I’d do without it. I also love that it comes with the electric motor which is great! It’s easy to put on and take off. I have to take it off sometimes when I’m working late or early morning because it is kind of loud. But it is super easy to do.

Update: August 30, 2022 This machine has met it's demise. I used it with the motor. I know how to NOT load the clay to bog it down. Honestly with as little as I used it over the what? 3 1/2 years? it's pitiful. *sigh* NO, I don't use it for pasta. But I have an Atlas Marcato I got in 2001 and it's still going strong. I just don't have a motor for it. Since I started using this Shule machine- I can't imagine NOT using a motor ever again. No- the motor on this machine does NOT fit any of my Atlas Marcato machines. The motor seems to be fine. I think the gears on the machine itself went kaput. When I turn the motor on- only one roller turns. I take the motor out- hand crank it (my clay was trapped) and it spasm jerks when I turn it. But what do I expect? It was a smoking hot cheap deal and the combo is still cheap (comparitively to Marcato). But you get what you pay for. I guess I should have sprang for the Atlas motor and made the use of all my Atlas Marcato machines. I learned my lesson.*************************************************************First I will say- I'm not using this for making pasta. I use it for polymer clay.This review is for Polymer Clay Artists-That said- I have an Atlas pasta machine and nothing will ever rival the quality of it. Nothing. They are formidable beasts. Mine is darn near 20 years old. However- they are expensive. I don't clay as much to warrant the purchase of a new Atlas with motor. I really have been wanting a motor. I saw someone post this brand of pasta machine AND it came with a motor! I felt it was a good value. I also hopeful the motor would fit my Atlas(it doesn't- but it's not a deal breaker).Regarding using it for clay- let me say I love how it attaches to pasta machine and it's self supporting. I've seen clayers use motors but it's so awkward because they want to tip. This does not have that problem.-secondly- the motor will not fit my Atlas (It wasn't a deal breaker)Mostly- It's a medium quality machine. It will condition my clay and it's nice not to have to hand crank it.A few cons- The scrapers have plastic covers. Those covers grab clay. It makes it harder to keep the clay I'm sheeting clean- but it does seem pretty easy to wipe clean (when I remember) and I don't end up with weird bits of clay in my sheets. Keep it clean and problem solved.The other con- well different clays do different things. When I was testing this out after I first got it- I was using a good clay that was on the softer side. It rippled so horridly I was concerned, then I tested another clay that was more firm and I had zero problems. So I'll be honest- while it does feel a little on the cheap side. Some clays are gonna ripple on the thinner settings regardless of the machine.I feel strongly that between this and my reliable old Atlas I can sheet anything.I do cover the buttons on the motor with a satin tape in case it's reactive to the clay plasticizers as I'm handling the clay and the buttons. But that's just me.Overall I'm glad I added this machine to my arsenal. This is great for people just starting out and not sure if they want to get serious about polymer clay, or just on a tight budget. Maybe just need a cheaper machine for light or dark colors perhaps? This is definitely an alternative.

Purchased this as a gift for my aunt to replace her hand crank one she was using for her clay.Works like a breeze and now she doesn’t have to hurt her hands trying to make her art!

1. Cut myself on sharp edges while cleaning the first one. I had two of the same type of machine and those were edge safe. The underside of the fenders is unfinished so watch out!2. Body of both had the front right out of alignment which made the units unstable. The way to put them into alignment must require special equipment or these were inspected by an undertrained person.3. The knob fell off the first one on day two. This knob could come apart somehow to put the spring and nut back together but I have no idea how to do it, nor should I have to.4. The cheap chrome on the rollers started coming off on the clay within the same day of use. It only took about four hours of use to see the loss on the rollers and the marks on the clay! You can see in the pictures that the chrome was literally gone on one of them. That was with two days of use.(I would never use a cheap pasta machine for pasta, you don't know what metals are used in these things)5. I start all my clay at the #0 setting. It is an unmarked hole to the south of the #1 setting. By the time I got to the #3 setting, the clay rippled which means the rollers are either out of round or out of alignment. You don't usually get rippling until the #6 or #7 setting or you didn't work the clay enough before trying a thinner setting.6. I wrote the company and they didn't reply.7. You get what you pay for. I thought this was a deal but it was instead an "ordeal".By day three I ordered a better machine, with a motor, from a different company. I doubt I will ever buy a "cheap" pasta machine again, not even for my grandkids to play with!!!

This si the best and most cost effective motor powered unit i found. Used it for holiday pasta making. And if you want to do a small batch u dont have to use the motor and just use the handle that comes with it. Love this unit and would recommend it to anyone looking to make home pasta. Zero complaints with it.I also like that IF the motor does go some day you can still use the unit on its own.

Works Great! I was a little skeptical of buying this at first, but it was well worth the money. It is easy to use and the quality of it is well made.
