I was restoring and upgrading an antique cast iron pot-bellied outdoor fireplace and decided to put in a set chimney flues, a 7" inner flue and an 8" outer flue. I wanted to install high-heat rated insulation between the two so heat transfer would keep the outer flue cooler to prevent severe burns if touched. This ceramic insulation accomplished that goal. I had to use a 48" metal ruler to stuff it between the two flues, but it was well worth the time and effort to do so. Be sure to wear a HEPA filter ventilated mask, full eye goggles and proper gloves when working with any insulation. Simple masks, safety glasses and flimsy gloves ARE NOT good enough.

I used this packing on my RineHart DBX40 mufflers on my 2020 Ultra Limited and it woked for my aplication just fine. It toned it down and muffled the high pitch crack when im giving it the beans.When doing this just use rubber glove otherwise you will be sorry!

I put around exhaust stack on wood stove in a camper/ice shack. Also on floor directly below it. Before i did that, i took a torch to it and it did nothing. So very confident in this product and not to expensive to keep heat where it belongs. Very happy with purchase.

I bought this to make a heat shield for the headers on the intake side of my 4runner. I built a custom intake and the charge tube is right over the exhaust headers. As did the stock tube. Since cold air makes power I wanted to keep the heat down with the exhaust. I cut the mat to the correct size then layered it with thermal tape and installed it over the area I wanted to reflect. It fit perfectly and keeps the intake much cooler than before I used the mat. Works as described. Would recommend this for any heat related project.

I cut a few strips to finish assembling a laboratory tube furnace. Test ran up to 1100 C. Works great.
