Ok so when I got these I was very skeptical that they were actually MERV 13 filters, because there was absolutely no printed packaging indicating Merv 13... nothing printed on the edges of the filters themselves either. The 4 pack just came in a box.I constructed a Corsi-Rosenthal fan using these filters. I used gorilla tape to make sure that everything was sealed entirely. When I was done, I placed my air quality meter over the fan to see how much cleaner the air really was. It had been sitting on my kitchen counter previously, and the TVOC level was around 2.5. Within seconds of placing the meter over the fan, the levels dropped to near zero. I was shocked. I was expecting a drop, but not complete elimination. So thats is proof that these filters really do work. I didn't even need to add activated carbon for the TVOCs to be eliminated.For some context, I live in an apartment that had bad cigarette smoke smells seeping in from other units. I used foam insulation to seal all the gaps and cracks behind the walls, and that eliminated much of the problem, but my TVOCs were still high and probably will be for a while until I can ventilate over time. So now I'm using a combination of ventilation (via a window fan), good HVAC filtration and this new powerful box fan to solve the issue. I highly recommend making one of these Corsi-Rosenthal fans. With 4 filters, that's a LOT of surface area and filtration. But you can rest assured that they are legit, even if they're somehow cheaper. Yes, they are flimsier than brand name ones, but they still provide the filtration.

Fits in slot because it's undersized. I replace it monthly and it's filthy. So, works as intended, no complaints.

I purchased the MERV 13, MPR 1500 Air Filter pack of 5. I have serious asthma and live in an old house, but we have a brand new heating and cooling unit. I normally go to a large home warehouse to purchase one or two at a time because the highest filtration ones are so expensive. When I saw this deal on Amazon, I thought it was my lucky day. Unfortunately I was wrong. Even though these are 3 month filters, I change them every month. The first month it was in, it was warm at the beginning and I didn’t notice anything unusual, but the unit wasn’t kicking on much because of the nice weather. Fast forward 3 weeks and we had almost a foot of snow and it was at zero temperatures, which is NOT normal for my area. My heating unit seemed to not be shutting off, not heating the house (not even in emergency mode), and in the rare case that it did shut off there was a loud boom (like someone jumping on the roof). After some investigating, I discovered that there was hardly any air coming out of the registers. I changed the filter, even though it had not been a full month. The problem did not improve. I checked the registers to see if they were blocked, I cleaned up around the outside unit, and as a last minute check- looked at the filter while the unit was running to make sure it was sitting correctly…what I saw was the filter was being sucked so hard that it looked as if it would rip in half. I put my hand on it to see the amount of air that was getting through…it was almost none. I immediately shut the unit off, took thebrand new filter out, and checked the unit without a filter to see if there was a blockage. Immediately all of the registers started blowing again. I ran to the store and purchased the filter I normally purchase (3M) and tested the unit and it worked perfectly…and the loud booming was gone. I am not sure what material these filters are made of, but it nearly certainly would have destroyed our new unit motor because of how hard it was trying to get air through had I not caught it. I will never purchase these again and now I’m stuck with 3 additional filters that I will have to throw out.
