My soldering kit has been through a few iterations as I try out things, don't like them, try something else, eventually get a good item on it, this one was just a completely natural fit off the bat. My soldering iron took a few tries before I settled on an Atmel that's done me great, the tips I still go back and forth on, the third hands took me a few tries to get something that worked well, usually I mentally keep track of what's new, how it's faring, I bought this one half a year ago and just forgot.My only gripe is that the height and position isn't adjustable. I place it on JLCPCB boxes for that, but at some point I'll 3D print off a setup that will fix that. For the price though, it is surprisingly good, and works from further away than I expected it to. I usually like space around where I'm working (DIY mechanic and all that), and this fits that bill really, really well. Will be sending the link to this guy any time someone makes a mention of it. Filters are super easy to replace and you can cut your own to size anyway, no reason not to get it.

Basically a 120mm PC case fan with a filter on the suction side. I can't speak to the filter's ability to actually capture rosin and lead fumes from the soldering, but the suction is basically OK. Keep the fan within about 5 " and it sucks the fumes away. The fan does make some noise, but it isn't extreme, probably because the blades are not balances. The electrical cable into the fan casing is extremely flimsy, something to keep an eye on as it is 120V. Comes with a spare filter.

It is loud and it doesn't help with smoke.

if the solder fumes get sucked into the fan it clears up almost everything

This fume extractor is probably the only one anyone should buy (as long as you are a hobbyist). This is because:1. It is cheap2. It works great3. It is quiet.This product truly is a hidden gem and I'm not sure why no one is buying it.

This is definitely for hobby level soldering. It works well for its purpose and is a good value at the current price. Wouldn't be a bad idea to use this with a similarly sized hose, so it actually moves the fumes away from you.

What can I say, it's a 120mm fan with a carbon filter and it's powered by an AC outlet. It does its job perfectly without any issues. The cord is a little short and the fans kind of loud but hey for $26 I really can't complain.

It's alright. Doesn't really clear the smell of smoke though. For the price it's just ok.
