I gave my kids these and they like that they are slightly different from one another and positively love fishing with it. It has enough action that they can feel the bite and it is enjoyable to watch a 1 pound crappie bend the rod as they attempt to bring it in. Makes a daddy proud.

These made great beginners rods for my daughter. She just got in to fishing with me and needed her own setup. I had a pretty pricey setup but ive also been fishing for 25 years. The reel isnt bad, there were no snag in the line upon casting, handle reels in smooth, and its got good give when you need to land a fish.

You get two rods and reels for under $50. This is a good price especially considering that these are pretty decent rods/reels. The rods feel light but should have no issues standing up to smaller freshwater fish. If you have some young kids or first-timers that you are going to be fishing with and don't want to loan them your nicer $100+ setups these are a good alternative. The drag feels smooth and not grabby. I am not a fan of the color schemes but some others may like it.
