This kit comes with a lot of good weights, lures, and hooks for starting out. We used this to try to get Catfish and some Carp and got a lot of good bites and catches so far. This not a high-end specialty kit so do not expect any high quality materials, but works great for the price.

This thing is absolutely junk please do not buy we ordered it for a Christmas gift and went to wrap and got curious so I got it out of the pack to see how it works the expanding pieces just come right apart you couldn't catch a minnow on it please dont buy this product I would return but I am past the return window

This is a nice compact set. The fishing pole is telescopic and is a little long for beginners, but will be fine when used with adult supervision. The "fish net" might scoop a fish out of an aquarium. Too small to be useful for anything else. The little tackle box is cute, but very small as well. Price may be a little high for the quality of the pole and accessories. Don't know how well the pole will hold up over time. All that said, it is a good gift for to get a child interested in fishing.

I ordered this for my Grandson's 4th birthday and was kind of afraid to order a fishing pole like this without seeing it and trying it out. When it first arrived the box looked pretty small and I thought "Oh no what did I do?" But once I opened the case and saw how it just slides out into a nice sized fishing pole which seems pretty sturdy, I was more than relieved. The net is a little small and there wasn't too much in the tackle box but we added some stuff to it for our Grandson.. We took him fishing and it was so easy for him to carry the case by himself and hold the pole. He even caught some fish! It was a little hard for him to cast only because he is just 4 and not too coordinated yet. But but its a great pole that should last him a long time as he grows! We were happy we bought it for him!

My son loves this. It works well, and so far after a full day of fishing, it seems like it will hold up well. The extras are a little “kiddy†(the net is for an aquarium, not a fish pond). But the rod is perfect for a 8-12 year old Who just wants to fish a local pond.

This set is so cute. We bought this for my son’s third birthday but after only a few uses the pole broke and is no longer functional. I’m so sad because it’s a great beginner set, but for $40 it’s not worth it for it to break so soon and with light use. Wish it was made of a little better quality.

Everything a small human would need to learn how to fish. Bobbers, line, rod, reels, and hooks! We didn’t explore this item much before leaving our toddler with it. Thankfully no piercings were acquired; how we got that lucky I don’t know. Quality enough material to land us a few fish on our babies first expedition fishing ever; and knots in the line large enough for parents to curse it. Have fun!

Tried to use it to fish in August and it acts like something is missing in the reel. Unuseable. Was a birthday gift for a six year old and he was so disappointed. It was his first time to fish. Put it in the closet and was just trying to decide whether to order a different one .
