I had a problem with low temperature in my tent and this saved the day. My spot is in an unheated garage and I couldn't get the temp above 60 degrees. This mat did the trick and now everything is growing wonderfully.

Never warmed up. Plugged it in when it arrived. Checked on it a half hour later and my hand was warmer than the mat. I played with the temp settings for another half hour and never felt any heat. Forgot about it until today and tried again. Same result.

Excellent product! This is the first year that we used heat mats to sprout our vegetables and flowers. The difference is spectacular. The tomatoes were up in three days and so were the blanket flowers. The heat controller is very nice. We can get the temp just where it needs to be. It is warmer in the middle of the mat which is the nature of the whole thing. The temp in our garage greenhouse is about 55 degrees right now, so we expected the mats to be cooler around the edges. Things that help: put a thermal mat underneath and cover the pots with a clear top until the sprouting begins. Also make sure the soil doesn't dry out. Most of the flowers germinate better when you put them in a plastic bag with a damp paper towel and stick that in the refrigerator for a couple of weeks, simulating winter. Then we plant them and heat them.

This Spider Farmer Seedling Heat Mat 10"x20.75" with a Built-in Temperature Controller heats to within a few degrees °F when checked against my IR thermometer gun, and when it's completely covered, it heats evenly. For the first few weeks, I checked its temperature perhaps 10-12 times a day, and the largest discrepancy that I recall was around 3°F from the temperature I set on the controller. That also was in line with what the current temperature readout was indicating. So, after almost 3 weeks, I may check on it once a day if I remember. I did not realize that this would need a cargo plug when I purchased it, so because of that I have not used it as of yet. I will for the next growing season, just have to make and adjustment to my garage so can can use the gfci plug in there.

I hated my tent with a passion. Never actually tried this item because I hated the tent so much that I don't want any spider farmer gear in my setup. Got it for free but I don't want it because its spider farmer and I intend to return it.
