I modified the spotter to fit on a 1.25 eyepiece (i took in the elastic strap and sowed it to a smaller size) I used it on my solar telescope and so far it seems to work well to block out the glare of the sunlight.

I used this item last night on my eyepiece for a dobsonian telescope I had. The moon last night was visible and 92.7% full aka Waxing Gibbous. So it was bright in the nighsky. This eyeshield did block some of the stray light, and even some light from the Moon. So I'll keep using it, maybe not every time I use my telescope, but a good to have for full moon nights, or almost full moon nights like last night. The fabric of the spotting scope eyeshield is flimsy though, so when you move into it with your face, it can collapse, or bend, allowing light into the cone, around the eyepiece (this will be the same for spotting scopes, I have one of those too, and telescopes). I wish the manufacturer made this from a thicker material that's soft, but can stand up and hold it's cone form better. Otherwise, I'm happy with it.

I like this because of the comfort . I can look through my eyepiece for such a long time. Without it it is killer strain on my eyeI used to throw a water proof cover over my head so I can Bockk the light. Summer it was hot as heck.

I wish it was made out of a stiffer material. It collapses to easily when you place your eye on it.

I had first purchased a Bino Bandit for my 16x70 binoculars. I decided to the purchase the Spot Bandit for my Lunt solar scope. It was easy to install on the zoom eyepiece and is quite effective at reducing glare during the day.

Thin, small, worthless. Wouldn't begin to fit my 20X60X80MM scope.
