How To Use Sprouting Jars
- Step 1:Please put the seeds you need to sprout into a sprouting jar, then pour in some water and let them soak for 4-8 hours.
- Step 2: Pour the water out of the sprouting jar, then place the sprouting jar with the seeds to be sprouted on a stand so that it has enough sunlight.

First off, these work great. Easy to sprout, easy to clean. First set came without the tray, but they were quick to send me another set and I returned the other. Basically, you put the dark covers on the jars and soak the seeds for 1 day, then continually rinse and drain the sprouts for 3 days upside down, then take off the dark covers for the last day to green up the sprouts in the window. Problem is, I rinse the sprouts several times a day anytime I saunter into the kitchen, and the dark covers, which are like beer can coolies, can get wet and stay wet, and I do like to look at my sprouts while they are in action. I sprouted 3 sets of broccoli sprouts and then thought "hmmm, what would happen if I did not use the dark covers for the first 4 days?" So I did an experiment and went thru the whole routine sans coolies, and it worked just fine. I just keep the whole apparatus in the windowsill in the kitchen. Honestly, I got more sprouts out of half the seeds! (I did not want to waste the seeds if my experiment did not work, so I used half as many seeds in each jar). The only problem I foresee with this unit is the the metal stand is not stainless, and it will eventually rust, as it already started doing that at the sautered points, and unfortunately those points are sitting in the water runoff. So in between sprouting, wash (use a teflon scrubber to get the rust off) and dry your rack well. I take off one star for rust and missing the tray on the first order.

These jars and holder made it easy for us to start growing our own fresh sprouts. We are in a rhytm now where we start the second jar when the first is harvested. Fresh sprouts everyday. The seeds we got were a blend of broccoli, alfalfa, beet, and radish. It's a great blend but we suggest that you use one type in order to have te sprouts germinate uniformly.

I have purchased these jars thinking that I can grow some seeds to use it as green fresh for salads and I my food. The greens started to grow but it had mildew in the plants so I had to throw it out

The wide mouth jar makes it easy to remove the sprouts. Using the blackout sleeve makes it easy to grow the sprouts without having to find a dark place. I like using the rack and tray to tilt the jar so it can drain without having to prop it on a dish. This is a great kit that includes everything needed for growing delicious sprouts.
