the Germans usually design beautifully, functionally, intuitively, clear packaging - the packaging here fails on all those parameters- given that i had to go to look for directions on how to access the lead in the package as all common sense approaches did not yield results ( yes, I did try to open the tiny stubborn, rather fragile latch on the long end but it is very difficult to move it so assumed there was another approach - only to read my first idea was the correct one but it was very challenging to open the latch - not a smooth and sturdy latch by any means - the engineer responsible for this design really needs to go back to the drawing board and whomever approved the latch design needs another day job

This lead is so smooth I replaced all of my Kohinor lead with it, Im not a hige fan of Staedtler the Mars Lumograph pencils are very scratchy for super fine tooth paper or Bristol but this lead is superb
