This is not your standard Bosch style relay, it's a completely different beast, but has some similarity. It works great as a "latching" relay.It has 5 pins:30 - 12V hotS - momentary ground from your switched source (make sure it's momentary, holding ground will damage the relay from what I heard)56 - Input Load/Power56a - Output 156b - Output 2Pins 30 and S comprise your coil, which once activated will toggle output power between pins 56a and 56b from the load/power on pin 56.So with one ground pulsed input you can switch between two devices, or in my case turn one device on and off with the same pulse source. I tied this into channel 3 of my car alarm to control an LED light I mounted in the grille. When I press channel 3 on my remote the relay switches power to 56b sending power to the light to turn it on. Then later I activate the same channel 3 on my remote to turn the light off, the relay switches back to pin 56a [which has nothing connected to it]. Great little flip flop device/latching relay that allowed me to use only one input/channel from the alarm to control power going to a device, thereby saving channel 4 to be used for something else!This was originally designed for VW automobiles and used in the headlight assemblies. 56a would be the low beams, 56b the high beams and there would be a button on the turn signal level arm to alternate between the two.It's a somewhat old design and goes under several names that I've encountered:VW Part # 111-941-583 (I believe this was the original)Standard LR35 RelayBorg Warner (BWD) R3018 RelayDNI 0127NAPA Part # AR284From what I can tell they are all functionally equivalent aftermarket versions. I ordered this one from Amazon because it was the lowest price I find and as always the fastest shipping, esp with prime.I take away one star because of the following:- This relay does not come with a socket and 4 of the 5 pins sit fairly close to one another. I had success by using female spade connectors (the larger sized ones) to connect to these pins, then wrapping the whole thing up in electrical tape.- The relay separates from its plastic housing too easily. Had this happen several times when trying to pull off a female spade connector, the whole relay would come out instead, leaving the plastic case in my other hand lol- Relatively high price compared to normal Bosch relays (more than 5x the cost)- There's no mounting stud/tab on this like normal Bosch relays, instead there's a very small metal tab provided on the top of the plastic housing. To be fair I was using this in a non standard application, but it's just good to note.But overall good product, very happy I found it and I will be ordering another to keep as a spare for future projects

I installed this and tested it - it worked fine. I drove my car for about 30 minutes and tried to use the headlights - but the relay had died. The base fell off. Avoid this product.
