The inside of the box is small so you'll have to work with the wires and connections, but the lid closes and stays shut nicely. I like that the lid is clear and you can see inside. Hefty little box that seems like it will keep water out just fine.

I have the power!Living in Florida and after the two hurricanes that tore through here last year, I knew I had to be more prepared. Luckily, we didn't lose power then but a lot of the communities around us did. We have a lot of reasons for needing to keep the power on so I bought a portable generator on a Black Friday sale. It would work great on its own but running cords everywhere is not very convenient so I wanted to get the hookups to potentially power the whole house on the generator. Had a licensed electrician come out to provide an estimate. Wasn't too bad but there were definitely some areas where I needed to save some money. One way I saved money was buying this box instead of having the electrician supply it. He was really impressed with it and was amazed at the price. It was really easy for him to install and he said the internals were very good quality. He couldn't find any issues with it and it is working great! Totally happy with it.

This 50 amp outlet/inlet is the perfect replacement for older systems or new installations. The box has knock-out holes for both 1/2" and 3/4" fittings. This is a four-wire (4-wire) grounded system.

Hey everyone you may be wondering what’s up with this item and why the low stars / review? I’ll tell you more about that in just a second. First I combed through all the reviews, then I checked out whatever pictures were available and this item seemed like a great purchase based on everything. It looked like it was a nice hidden gem, that was far from it.Overall it’s a nice solid looking box / inlet as you can see from my pictures other than that this is where it ends. Here are the issues. The knockout sizes are not even correct. Definitely NOT 3/4†(quarter inch) on the two top ones or 1†(inch) on the single one. The proper pvc conduit threaded ends / adapters, absolutely do not fit for either 3/4†or the 1â€. You can review my pictures showing that, even if you were to file down the threads (the knockouts come pre-threaded) and sand it; it still wouldn’t fit, you would have to re-drill everything out.The back of the outlet plug doesn’t even offer enough space to the back of the box. It’s going to be really really tight, probably around 1/2†of space before the plug hits the back of the box. 50amps requires 4 gauge wire. I think the last two pictures shows the spacing of plug to back of the box. There are 8 mounting points that are not even pre-drilled, every other box has pre-drilled holes this one doesn’t. They also include caps, but they don’t even send you the full amount only three total. You’re basically supposed to cap off the screws holes to prevent water intrusion kinda hard to do when you don’t get all the caps your supposed to.Overall just review the pictures and make the call yourself if this item is for you. Hopes this review helps.

First, as mentioned above, the knockouts are not standard thread. I had to glue the conduit over the hole.Second, the connectors do not grasp the 6/8 AWG stranded wire using. Tightened the screws as much as possible and the wires pulled out with a test tug.I've got it modified and mounted so can't return. Need to take a chance on the untight connections or find a way to modify. Good luck shoppers.

Tight to fit the cables but worth it because these are good quality, seal well, and look sharp.
