The silicone ones are hit or miss and generally underperform compared to a natural brush. This one bastes better than others I’ve tried and looks classy. Haven’t had any issues, pretty easy to clean. Just remember, only Staub cast iron is made in France. all ceramics and accessories are made in China.

It’s a cute brush with a very comfortable handle. As with other Staub utensils, best protect the wooden handle finish while washing it. I avoid using sponge on the handle and just slightly soap it up, rinse and dry immediately.

I’m really disappointed with this brush. While the handle is smooth and beautifully made, the stiff silicone bristles make it hard to apply ingredients like egg or butter evenly. The rigidity of the bristles makes the application process frustrating and less effective.

Not real pleased with this silicone basting brush. It just doesn’t work well. Too skimpy to hold any liquid. Doesn’t have to body to hold it with. And the handle is to short that is if you’re reaching into a hot oven to baste with it. I’m giving it 4 stars too many. Would like to only give 3 stars.

I used this product for pastries and other baked goods. I washed it by hand and the bristles stayed and did not warp or bend.
