I have a few chores that need doing and so I got this steel wool. There are a lot of things that you wouldn't think it was good for but just think sandpaper. You get a pretty large piece to work with and you can break that down into whatever size you need. I recall using it ages ago in metal shop class to get rid of any rough edges and yes to polish the item I was making. But mice control? If all that stands between a determined cold hungry mouse is this stuff and your warm home? Then you may as well put out another plate for it and invite it in for dinner. Nowhere on the package does it say among the many uses for this stuff "mice control", and they listed all sorts with room to spare. There are much better ways to keep mice out "Before" they get into your home. That is your first line of defense, not giving it a project.

Be careful if you want to use it for polishing. It was advertised as a hole filler for rodents and as such works great. It's a 10 foot roll of single 0 steel wool. Single 0 is pretty coarse for polishing as compared to 0000 grade steel wool. Just a point, since it advertised for finishing and polishing.
