Just reviewed the hog rings and you will most definitely need these hog ring pliers to make it happen. These pliers are inexpensive and performed perfectly. I would recommend these to anyone who is looking to try their hand at a little upholstery. Mine turned out great!

Great set of hog ring pliers! Restoring a 72 Chevelle and got around to redoing the all of the seat upholstery. Stripped the seats down to the frame and they got all new foam and everything. Used 3/4" galvanized hog rings and they fit perfect in the jaws. The pliers crimp the rings just like you'd expect a hog ring plier to do. The spring return keeps the jaws open when putting in a new hog ring without any issues. The one issue that I did have was that the rubber part of the handle did like to slip off, but nothing a little super glue couldn't fix. Overall these pliers are excellent and I did both buckets seats and the rear seat upholstery and the pliers show no wear! Couldn't go wrong buying these if you are needing a set of hog ring pliers.

Just a FYI when ordering ring pliers & rings: make sure the rings are the correct angle for the pliers. We had a pair of ring pliers for years & had to recently reorder rings. Unknownly we ordered the wrong angle on the rings. So we ordered this plier for the previous rings & ordered the correct rings for the first ring plier. So we have a ring plier & rings for each angle ring. We should be all set for making sausage in the future!

I have tried to use this twice to close up summer sausage casings, and struggled both times because the plastic on the handles is too slippery. I will have to apply something like the cord on upgraded fishing pliers to make them non-slip.

Not the best hog ring pliers, I would buy something else. The cuts aren’t deep enough so the hog ring keeps flying off when you use them. Just get a different brand, spend a little bit more and it will worth it. don't settle for junk. after 2 months of use, its beginning to fall apart

Title says "kit" however there is no kit in this order. All you get is the pliers, singular.
