Used this item on top of the window molding rather than from the ceiling, it is very sturdy and barely noticeable against the woodwork.Used to hang winter weight drapes from.I didn't want to drill into the already damaged side trim.

The screws are a little too long so if you need to be careful when you use the screw. I use my own screw, which is half the length.

I purchased these to hang curtains under a DIY over-the-window shelf. The shelf is 8 inches wide and 84 inches long. I mounted 3 of these brackets under the shelf (one on each end and one in the center) to hold the curtain rod. They worked perfectly! The end result looks great and has received numerous compliments.

I needed to hang blackout curtains in our toddlers’ room, but they had pulled the previous rod holders down (yes they were anchored, the kids were pulling on the curtains) and the weird way our window is located prevented me from being able to put a middle hook for extra support. I got these and used super heavy duty anchors (NOT the ones provided) that can support a lot of weight in drywall to re-hang the curtains with a middle support and so far so good. My kids finally napped for the first time in weeks thanks to having a dark room again.
