You never know when you'll need to park your motorcycle on soft ground. This kickstand pad will keep the bike upright. Solid plastic and small enough to easily carry with you. The orange color helps to remind you not to ride off without it. Don't ride without one.

I'm pleased with this kickstand pad. I try to always have something similar to this in my saddlebag for those unforeseen circumstances where you may need to park your bike on soft dirt, hot asphalt, or any surface that may be unstable. This kickstand pad is strong and durable, and it works well even with my heavy Harley Davidson touring motorcycle.I've used all kinds of things to prevent my kickstand from sinking in the past... ranging from rocks, to beer cans... and this is a much nicer solution.I'd buy it again - every motorcycle rider needs one.

I prefer this shape and style of kick stand pad the best. The plastic is rigid and thick, and the raised “walls†on top keep the kickstand base tab positioned nicely in the center of the plastic pad. Since it’s winter now, I have not tested this particular stand pad in the heat. However, unlike thinner, softer, other plastic pads, I have never had this type warp, bend or sink due to extreme heat. To be honest, I also ordered this orange kickstand pad because it matches the motorcycle. Nonetheless, bright colors like orange or yellow may make it less likely you’ll forget the pad and ride off without it.

When its really hot outside, putting your bike on its kickstand, on hot pavement can lead to bad results. An old biker trick is to flatten an aluminum can and place it under the kick stand. Although the old can trick may not be the absolute best solution, it is better than using this SUNPIE support. The SUNPIE support might be ok for use on grass, but it just can handle the heat. I tested this support by placing it in a toaster oven set at about 140 degrees. Somewhere just over 100 degrees (much much cooler than summertime pavement), the SUNPIE support became very malleable and I was able to easily bend it with my bare hands. At first glance, when ordering, I thought this was a metal support, and I just didn't read the entire product description, which says it is Hard ABS material, my bad. And, I have my doubts that it is even Hard ABS, more like just cheap plastic. Sorry, I won't trust my bike to a cheap plastic disc such as this. Its in the trash.

There are other options out there, I've had a magnetic one that was nice because it found where it needed to be when setting my bike down on it, but it also lifted with the kickstand and would fall off at some point if you forgot to grab it (that's how I lost mine). I view these as semi-disposable because I've now lost several (some taken when I left them in my parking space), therefore I don't want to spend a lot on a fancy one.My at-home solution (because the pavement gets hot and soft in the summer) is the wooden lid from a candle; I like the extra height and I always have a replacement ready when needed. Another review mentioned that this won't hold up on hot pavement, but it appears to be identical to another popular store branded one I used to have and that did just fine. This will be my on-the-bike pad, I just have to find a place to stash it that is accessible from the saddle.
