this is a little pricey; however it fits well, and has a longer arm than the plastic wrench that came with my system. My filters are tight and often difficult to remove. I haven't broken the included plastic wrench yet, but it's difficult enough that I wanted a spare on hand. The arm is substantially longer than the included plastic wrench, so it does make an otherwise difficult filter removal a little easier.

I’m happy with how solid this tool is since the canisters can be virtually frozen on. The amount of force needed broke the cheap plastic wrench but this one handled it no problem.

Very sturdy aluminum alloy with rubberized handle bars, works perfectly as intended. The filter canister came off easily with a little effort but having tow it made it much easier

Haven’t actually used it yet but it is substantial! Thick metal and long handle to get enough torque to loosen and tighten the housing. Should hold up unlike the plastic one it’s replacing. It broke probably due to it being stored in the crawl space and varying temps making it fragile over time.

Just the tool needed to remove the the housing on our whole house water filter. I tried two of the plastic wrenches but one broke. I used the new metal wrench along with a plastic wrench (180°s apart) to finally loosen the housing. Worked great.

This product worked to unstick a filter that had been tightened with an extra gasket in it, causing it to get stuck by the time I went to replace the filter. My plastic wrench was going to break if I cranked on it any harder trying to remove it.The handle is also a bit longer than the plastic wrench I have for more leverage and easier turning.I do not think normally a metal wrench should be used tighten as you could easily overdo it, but if something gets overtightened this will break it free.I might suggest people continue to use a plastic wrench to tighten to avoid overdoing it and keep this metal one for easier removal only. If your plastic wrench isn't tightening your filter down enough to seal you should check that you do not have a gasket stuck inside the filter or try adding grease to your o-ring or replace the o-ring. The plastic wrench should be enough to tighten, and if you're breaking it trying to tighten it to avoid a leak you likely have something else going on.Very pricey for what it is, simply a piece of stamped steel with one end dipped in rubber.

Buy this now! For six years I have struggled with the plastic wrench that came with my Aqua-Pure water filtration system. I bought a 30 inch pipe to extend the handle of the plastic wrench so I would have more torque to loosen the filter housing. That broke the handle and messed up my knuckles. Lowe's, Home Depot and Ace Hardware offered nothing but the plastic cheapo junk This solid, metal, long handled wrench made it really easy to unscrew the housing. It is heavy, made in the USA and a thing of beauty.

Absolutely worth spending the money for this metal wrench. For whatever reason, my water filter is always hard to take off and I have broken several plastic wrenches.
