It is a convenient tool for me but this is not a professional grade tool it is going to loose its paint and such.

If you have a surge braking system on your trailer then you should have one of these. My system works as it should. When you put your truck in reverse a solenoid is activate that send the brake fluid back to the master cylinder instead of allowing the fluid to activate the brakes. A lot of people, including me, disconnect the trailer wires when backing into the water. if you do that, your brakes may activate when backing. Especially if your trailer is heavy, backing up a hill, or backing in grass. I also store my boat/trailer in a covered area where I use a tractor to maneuver it in and out of. It's just easier due to the turning radius of the tractor. So this thing solves the problem of the brakes always activating when backing in grass or uphill, good purchase.

I have a Dexter surge brake actuator with manual lockout. Even though I have the manual lockout on this actuator, I've had the experience of having the twist lockout cap stolen at a boat ramp and I was stuck trying to back the trailer into our camping site once we recovered the boat. I bought this magnetic mechanical lockout "KEY" so I wouldn't be stuck in any situation like that in the future. This item fit my Dexter surge brake actuator perfectly without any modification. It seems of quality build that should last a long time.
