I really like this cushion even though I do not use it for yoga or meditation because I don't do either of those things. My reason for getting this cushion is because it is so much better for your back and posture to sit in a position where your hips are higher than your knees. I find it much more comfortable to sit "criss-cross-applesauce" if my hips are elevated. I've used a rolled up towel for this in the past and I keep a wedge shaped support in my car driver seat. I got this and actually use it on my sofa to sit with my hips higher than my knees and it has made a huge improvement in my back pain. I do not use the included knee pads. It is filled with buckwheat hulls which helps it to maintain it's shape without just squishing under you. This means it can end up feeling quite hard if it's used for long periods of time. Like sitting on it on my couch watching a movie. I haven't tried removing some of the filling or adding some memory foam to the side i sit on, but I may give that a try to make it more comfortable to use for longer periods of time so I can use it on my office chair when I'm at desk working for hours.

An impressive initial experience. Solved a serious life-long challenge (see lower down, paragraph 6)! The set has an effective design with a nice neutral, smooth fabric (94.5% polyester, 5.5% spandex - as per tag on pillow). The pillow is filled with buckwheat husk and the knee cushions with 40D foam, providing a kind of comfort and support never experienced before.There is some clarity called for regarding the product construction & care, which leads me to have have concerns regarding the longevity & ongoing effective care & maintenance of this product.Unfortunately, the product arrived missing any kind of product information, instructions, guide, or care directions etc. (this appears unique to me from reading other reviews). Somewhat confusingly, no information is available online. There's no downloadable pdf, or instructional online resources relating to this product anywhere outside of this page. Amazon directs you to simply "contact the manufacturer", with there being no apparent way to do so.Fortunately, the tag on the main pillow provides composition and some care instructions BUT.. confusingly, they don't fully align with the information in the product listing in several aspects.A minor one being that the listing notes that the outer fabric (which is a polyester blend, not mentioned in the listing, and ought to be) cannot be removed from the inner foam - but that is untrue, there are very well sewn in, smooth zippers on each block which allows for easy separation(?).Now, for the *REALLY* GOOD stuff! Obviously it helps overcome flexibility and joint challenges, but for me it did something close to MIRACULOUS. Perhaps someone can relate: I've often found the combination of sitting up straight (standard meditation pose) while also relaxing my entire abdomen to allow the "belly breathing" almost impossible.. and actually impossible for extended periods . My lower abdominals always just naturally engages and its a recurring struggle through every practice, or rather, it WAS.Using this Floor Pillow, specifically with the Knee Cushions, magically put me in the PERFECT posture with total ease and COMFORT and magically allowed my entire abdominals to immediately relax INSTANTLY, and stay that way - even for extended periods. NO MORE STRUGGLE!!! For the first time in my life. I might as well have been floating on a cloud.(The foam blocks are also VERY useful in certain yoga poses / stretches, providing a MUCH better result and variations from standard hard "blocks". Get creative: Deepen child pose, find a new safe wrist flex & strengthening strategy, to name a few.)

I’ve been trying to get into meditating for a while and never knew people were sitting on support pillows until right before, literally like the day prior I seeing this meditation cushion on here and had to get it! Up until now I’ve been sitting on the floor on a towel and dying from my butt and back hurting so much! I was sooo excited to try it, but there’s a learning curve to sitting in it and being totally comfortable, at least my butt no longer hurts and my back is relatively straight. Seriously this is a nice set and makes a huge difference in the amount of time you can sit. Totally recommend!!!

Smells of chemicals. Package arrived in a box then inside a random hefty compression bag. Loosely & very random. Almost like it had been used before.

The cushion you sit on is nice and sturdy/heavy! However I was so disappointed that the strap that connects the pieces came with a broken bucket/clasp. Unfortunately will have to return

After about a year of daily meditation, I decided I really wanted a meditation pillow for the floor, so I was super excited to receive the Syrinx Floor Pillow-Meditation Cushion to review.I wasn’t really sure what to expect, but man was I delighted when I opened the box.The floor pillow and accompanying knee cushions are all constructed with (what feels like) cotton canvas. The floor pillow is filled with buckwheat, and it is really full. There is little give (in a good way) when you sit on it, so I feel like it is going to be a good long while before I have to do any refilling. The knee cushions are also reasonably firm with (again what feels like) closed cell foam inserts that really support your knees when you are sitting on the pillow. I think it will take me a minute to become accustomed to this new posture, but it is much more comfortable than I expected.If I have a complaint, and it is minor, it is in the care instructions. They tell you to air the buckwheat cushion every three months, and while they tell you not to put it in the dryer, they don’t really explain how you are supposed to accomplish this airing. This isn’t a huge deal, and let’s face it, if you’re shopping on Amazon, you clearly have the necessary equipment to search for the answer, but I am of the opinion that if there are any included instruction with a product, they should be complete.I haven't tried the carry straps, and I can't, at this juncture, see that I will have a need, but they are there, and they also appear to be of good construction.That being said, overall I am really pleased with this lovely cushion, and I am really looking forward to many years of service from this product.
