I bought these pots to practice my soldering on, before soldering the actual pots that were on my guitar.Since the price was so low, they make perfect soldering practice pots for me.

These are probably the industry standard for pots and will work very well with guitars like Les Pauls, SGs, etc. They are consistent and have a smooth (and not too fast, not too slow) feel to the way they turn.A couple things to note:- Audio taper is the same as log taper, so it'll give you the more gradual (and generally more useful) type of volume or tone roll-off.- The top edge of the pots has a small metal tab protruding out. I'm no expert so I'm guessing these are to help anchor the pots in place once you screw them down (though they also come with a lock washer), but in my case, I had to file off the tab so that the pot would sit more flush against the inner wall of the electronics cavity. Not a huge deal, but does require a little more work and a decent file.

This is a set of 4 audio taper pots, not linear taper, not a combination. It may not make a difference to most people but they are best suited as tone controls and won’t have a smooth transition from soft to loud. Beyond that, these are very good quality parts. I do plan to change out the tone pots in my Strat so it isn’t a total loss. This is the best deal I found on Amazon for a set of 4.

These are mostly great. But the tolerance specs on one of the 4 is really disappointing. Out of spec by 8.4%?!? Not acceptable by my electrical standards.

Installed these in a Epiphone Les Paul Standard. They work great. But ... buy the long shaft ones for an LP, even an import. I was not able to put washers on the backs to have enough thread to install the nut on the top. I think it would be better to have a nut on the bottom to draw back the long shaft than have it too short (you won't be able to use the nuts from the stock pots since they are smaller). Also note the CTS shafts are larger diameter than the stock pots on the imports, so you'll have to drill the holes out a little. No big deal, but might be out of the comfort zone for some folks.

The item listing doesn’t state a tolerance, and these 500k pots were far from the most expensive option. I was really surprised to see that the four pots measured at 490k, 494k (x2), and 502k. For them to all be within 2% is exceptional — I’m usually thrilled at 10%. YMMV.
