About this item

  • Refreshed, modern appearance
  • Industry-leading performance
  • Exclusive, rotating pour-out spout
  • More-ergonomic carrying handle
  • Standard lid latch

Durable and compact, Porta Potti 135 portable toilet makes an ideal companion whenever you're on the road. Works in RVs, trucks, vans or even when you're out camping, offering the comfort of a fully functional toilet. 135 model uses a bellows pump for flushing and comes with removable seat and cover for easy cleaning. The portable toilet has two holding tanks: a 2. 6 gallons (9. 8l) fresh water tank and a 2. 6 gallons (9. 8l) wastewater holding tank. The freshwater tank ensures an average of 27 flushes, with a full tank. The wastewater holding tank comes with a sealed valve, which prevents odors from escaping, and the exclusive Pour-Out Spout, which ensures there's no backsplash during the emptying process. The portable toilet has white top and bottom with a grey middle-band and has the following dimensions: H: 15. 12 in (38. 4 cm) - from top to bottom - lid closed, L: 13. 54 in (34. 4 cm) - from front to back, W: 12. 13 in (30. 8 cm) - from side to side. Caution: Do not use stiff brushes or homemade products to clean or lubricate the valve and seal of your portable toilet, as these will damage the seals and surfaces, causing odors to escape from holding tanks

This is my second 135 Thetford porta potty. It is an excellent product. However, the dimensions as listed are incorrect. It lists the height as 15.12", when in fact it is 12.13". The width is listed as 12.13", when in fact it is 15.12". I almost cancelled my order as the compartment in my RV only allows height of 13". When I checked, my older porta potty was a 135 so I didn't cancel. It is indeed 12.13 high and fits the compartment completely. No wonder people are complaining it is too small if they expected it to be 15.12" high.Still, that doesn't take away the fact that it is an excellent porta potty. I suggest the dimensions be corrected so others are not misled.

I have been using this for 5yrs in my van.I am full time solo traveling.I empty this about every 3wks (use good potty chemicals) - find a portapotty at a park... easiest. Bring a gallon of water to rinse it out (twice);Buy a 2lb (blue plastic) tub of Maxwell House coffee (remove the coffee)... this fits inside the bowl nicely so you can separate your urine - empty daily;Be sure to open the chute b4 you poop (I can't believe how many people I have met who don't do this, then complain about cleaning poop smears afterwards - duh); The accordion pump on the upper water chamber will dry out and crack (I never bothered to use it) - I keep a gallon of water nearby and it just takes a splash to clean the bowl after you poop (wipe it dry);Use single ply TP - poopy TP goes into the potty, peepee TP goes into an empty plastic container, like what kitchen counter wipes come in.NO, it doesn't stink, unless you are too full or you are in a super hot area. It's called fermentation... open the chute and burp it. Fan off the fumes and you should be good.I don't advise getting the bigger potty unless you can handle carrying and dumping a 5 gallon tank.

Worked as expected. Empty daily. Use some product in there to help with smell.

This is primarily used for camping, and stored in the back of a minivan which makes it handy in case of a bathroom emergency -- good to have when public bathrooms are too disgusting to use.SIZE: It's small and low to the ground. The seat and bowl are small as well. Not super comfy, but ok. It's easy to use provided you have decent mobility (can stand up from a squat), fairly easy to clean (why the removable toilet seat, I don't know), and the lid snaps closed so odors don't escape when not in use. 2 adults could use it for 2 days before dumping it, possibly 3.FEATURES: The flush function is almost useless. As others have stated, you have to push hard on the bellows. Very little water comes out and it's not enough to move a single square of toilet paper, and doesn't rinse the whole bowl. I keep a water bottle nearby with sports top and use a quick squirt of the water bottle to rinse the bowl after use. I almost docked a star for that, but the good outweighs the bad, so I don't even consider that much of a negative. Perhaps mine is defective, but I press hard and get a dribble.TREATMENT: I use a heaping tablespoon of Happy Campers Holding Tank Treatment mixed in warm water (shaken in a jar) and I pour it into the holding tank. I use septic safe Angel Soft toilet paper --it's cheaper than rv toilet paper and disintegrates well. The Happy Campers dissolves the solid waste and toilet paper into liquid, so emptying the holding tank is only a matter of pouring the (soupy) contents into a toilet and flushing. I then rinse the tank multiple times.EMPTYING: Although there is no smell when the toilet is not being used and the lid is closed, dumping the tank is another story. The smell is horrendous. Sometimes after dumping and rinsing, I fill the holding tank with water and baking soda and let sit overnight to deodorize. I don't know if it helps but it makes me feel better. Because it's under 3 gallons, it's not too heavy to lift.CONS: There's one thing I found questionable and has nothing to do with the item...but without getting into details, I question whether I got a used unit. Not sure if I'd have the nerve, but if I could go back, I might have rinsed the holding tank first or maybe smelled it on receipt. Also, mine did not come with the deodorizing packet others have talked about.PROS: Overall, this thing is really handy. Much better than the 5 gallon bucket with trash bags method, or peeing in a bottle in the dark at night. The peace of mind it brings is well worth the money spent. I keep Method Wipes nearby and keep it immaculate, which also makes it nice to use. (DO NOT flush cleaning wipes!!!). This has made our camping trips much more pleasant.

Thetford makes a great little porta potti! When I first unboxed it, I was concerned it may be too little (it's damned cute!). I'm 200+ lbs and it is small, but once I sat on it, I felt supported and stable. I'm using it in my bus conversion as an emergency toilet when I have no option or don't want to go outside at night. I used it for the first time this weekend and was not disappointed! It was super easy to dump and clean too. I have not pooed in it and don't plan to - I bought poo bags to use instead - but as for peeing, it worked with no issues. I'd wouldn't hesitate to buy this again.

This product is well designed and well constructed. I LOVE it for camping. Great for tent camping, but I also took it in the RV when we went camping and didn't want to dewinterize the camper. I set the Theford in the bathroom and then was assured of having someplace to pee during the night when I didn't want to trek to the bathroom or especially when we are staying at a Cracker Barrel. When you want to empty it, it is super easy to transport and very discreet. Much better than my previous system--sneaking a 5 gallon bucket into the restroom before dawn. This toilet is very easy to use, to dump, and to rinse out.

I love to go places, 4 wheeling, etc. As the population has grown in my region, we are starting to turn our mountains into mountains of poo...I think everyone who drives in the woods or goes to places with no toilet needs one of these. It is easy to clean and care for. It does weigh a bit in its fresh state and of course more with some waste added (~15kg). This model is pretty short, if you're a big and tall guy or girl you might want to get one of the taller versions for comfort alone. It also makes like easier with the wife and kid, when you always have a place to go potty (a portable tent pairs nicely with this toilet). I have to admit I prefer it also.

Muchas gracias!

We bought this potty to use when we are camping in our tent, to use at night time and any other time really. You could even use it at the side of the road in an emergency when travelling in a car... ha ha. It is quite small and portable, easy to sit on, and works well. You have to buy the chemicals to break down the toilet paper and stuff, also need to buy special toilet paper. It is easy to bring to a regular toilet to get rid of the contents, you never have to worry about it splashing at all. Easy to keep clean, no bad smell as long as you buy the chemicals to keep it fresh. Very pleased with this purchase!
