I was skeptical how well this would work. But, when I used it for the first time to tie down some material on the bucket of my tractor, I was surprised how well it worked. It was easy to adjust and held the material well. It was just as easy to release also. My only complaints are, it’s a little pricy for what you get and the length of the rope could be longer. 15 feet is kind of on the short side, 20 or 25 feet would have been better. Thus the 4 ****. But, I like it though for its convenience and what it does. I would recommend it if you don’t mind spending the money for what it costs!

Used these to set anchors on shore and made tying up very slick and easy. Fellow boaters were all impressed and immediately jumped on to buy a set for themselves

Worked great for intended purpose. Hoisted a 9 foot artificial Christmas tree to the top of a cabinet, solo.

The manufacturer's description of the 3/8" Tie Boss claims "simply pull tight, and the rope will securely lodge into the jam cleat under tension. When ready to release, just pull the rope and unlock like a venetian blind" as if you can use the Tie Boss single-handed.In fact, using the Tie Boss to hold in place a 40 pound tool, we have found that, unlike a venetian blind, it takes 2 hands to safely secure and unsecure the 3/8" Tie Boss. The weight of the item being secured or unsecured requires use of both hands. Additionally, in order to either push the rope into or to pull the rope out of the Tie Boss requires both hands - although the Tie Boss holds the rope tightly to prevent slippage, the force required to release or secure the rope requires two hands for operation.Once the rope is secured, the Tie Boss WILL hold the load securely. Just be aware that the manufacturer's implications of easy, one-handed use are exaggerated.

I had one of these before and used it for years, I just wore it out. Ordered a new one and the same great clamp but the rope was too small of a diameter resulting it it going too deep into the jaws of the clamp and then being difficult to release
