Works great its a little smaller than I thought it would be but does what it suppose to, the eye could be a little larger to accommodate hooking it up to the hoist but can work around that.

Used to lift a 1" thick steel plate that weighed about 850lbs. No issues and worked well.

I haven’t used it but it doesn’t feel low quality, I can’t wait to break it out on a job

I ordered the 2200lb (1 ton) version of this clamp to use for lifting steel plate. The sides of the clamp are made from thick 4 gauge (5.9mm) steel plate that has an additional trapezoid shaped metal plate welded to it in the center for reinforcement. The center cavity has a few plug welded rods, one for the hanger and one for jaw hinge. The plate is gripped by a toothed jaw that is on a cam, such that when lifting, the heavier the plate, the more clamping force is applied. There is a spring assisted lever that disengages and opens the jaw. The hanger eye and pivot are cast. The entire assembly is robust and seems heavy-duty enough to accommodate the rated load. The welds were a bit sloppy for my taste, although, to be fair, I do precision fabrication where every weld needs to be perfect, appearance and that level of precision don’t seem to matter as much for this device. Still, I would have preferred higher quality welds and a better paint job.Another consideration is there is no swivel on this clamp. The hanger has a pivot assembly but no swivel, which limits the ability to turn the plate unless your hook has a swivel. As far as operation, the clamp does what it is suppose to do. It grips the plate tightly and holds it firmly. I did not experience any slippage or issues in my use. When it comes to value, it is hard to complain about this plate clamp, at the time of my order, the 1 ton clamp was priced around $45, which, considering how beefy this clamp is, I consider to be an very good value.I can’t yet speak to longevity; I plan on keeping an eye on the critical parts to see how they age with use. Most of my use will be lifting 1/4†to 1/2" thick steel plate, up to 5’x10’, which will max out at about half the rated load for this clamp, which should provide a decent safety factor and peace of mind.Bottom Line: This is a heavy-duty plate clamp that gets the job done at a very reasonable price.

I am very pleased with this lifting clamp. It's a beast and far stronger than I need for my shop use but that being said, it's confidence inspiring to have that extra weight-lifting capacity if the need ever arises. As it is, I only intend to use this for moving 4'x8' sheets of metal around my shop. Knowing that this wasn't a sufficient test for this heavy duty clamp, I decided to open the jaw and slip a large clevis hook that I had mounted to the top of an engine and transmission sitting on the floor in my shop. It lifted that assembly into the air and kept it there for a few minutes, as I shifted the suspended weight around in the air. Aside from the fact that it was like I was holding up feathers, as far as the clamp is concerned, I also wanted to test at this time, the security of the handle that is used to open and close the jaw, while under load. The jaw's locking mechanism is slick, smooth-operating, and easy to use and yet, while under load, it doesn't allow for accidental disengagement, which was of utmost importance to me (and I would expect, for anyone). So that was a plus. Overall, I cannot imagine a better materials lifting clamp than this, so I highly recommend it.

This is a massively heavy duty tool. Rated at 2 tons. And yes that’s a normal size clipboard in the photo. The other photos you can see using this vertical panel clamp from TKK using a John Deere 1025R. Since this is a vertical clamp, it’s very easy to figure out where to attach it or if you get it in the wrong place to move it for good balance and for lifting items safely (to keep them from swinging) . This tool made a lot of difference compared to attaching and lifting with a chain or a different type of hoist. My husband is thrilled to have this panel lifting clamp and says it can do so many jobs and do them much easier and much safer than without it. This tool from TKK is not just built. It’s overbuilt. I have no doubt it will last for generations.
