What a great tube microphone preamp, it helps to boost the gain stage on the micorphone, and gave very clear sound that what I need for the vocal recording, it picked up everything in the room, even my breathing, so adjusting the knob is really relevant.I also tried to hookup the guitar and bass, this works great as a DI for instruments running into a PA, as well as a nice warm and crisp preamp for the crystal clear tube-ish smooth sounding into the audio interface (this Dynasty ProAudio TMP-1 mic-pre works better than the built-in Focusrite preamp on my USB audio interface)Another cool feature is that with the 20 dB boost engaged, you can crank the gain knob to get more "headroom†and it actually wasn't noisy for my ears at all so far. No feedback or buzzing from what I can tell. The preamp is just an overall good, so I’m going to buy the second one of this because it really does sound very good, especially for the $100 range that you can't beat this thing... It's solidly built and does exactly what it's supposed to do.

I hope that the product that was delivered to me is defective because the audio quality of this product is terrible. The AC noise is impossible to eliminate even in post production, the timbre is not as warm as one would expect. The gain of the input stage is low and difficult to drive with various microphones in my possession (of well-known and famous brands such as AKG, Bheringer etc.).It is impossible to give a rating higher than one star, I think I will return the product.I do not want to make too harsh criticisms but for quality of construction and audio quality up to now the only economic setup with Limit and Comp (which this DYNASTY PRO AUDIO does not have) has been the ART PRO AUDIO TUBE MP/C.That's all .... I will replace the product with something different. My experience has been totally negative and I do not recommend this product.

This is a solid, well built vacuum tube preamp, great for your single channel instruments. It offers phantom power, a limiter, phase inverse, and +20 gain switches to toggle each on and off. The casing and heft of the product is very robust and sturdy feeling. It's a little weighty. It's powered by 9V AC barrel connector with a provided power adapter. Note the AC is not your typical DC power, so don't mix this up with your typical 9V DC adapters. The knobs offer adjustments of Gain Input volume and a Drive. You might experience some extra noise with the gain cranked up.I use this with an audio interface to capture microphone recordings and this add a nice warmth to your vocals (and other direct input devices like guitars). The internal seem fairly well built and clean, however I did get a small stray cutting from what I assume is left over from when they soldered the components and cut the extra leads. I could hear it rattling around inside the casing, and I was determined to remove it so it didn't potentially short anything inside. The knobs are sturdy and of great quality and the XLR and inputs jacks are very sturdy as well. The vacuum tube however is a no name brand of vacuum tube, while it sounds decent, I've opted to replace it with a well known brand. If your are going to use this with an audio interface, then make sure your phantom power on your interface is not on. This will cause the LED's to max out and stay lit... Not sure if this will hurt and it still seems to play, but it just doesn't function with this configuration (48V phantom) enabled. The audio still seems to play just fine otherwise. This is a decent and affordable option for anyone who wants to add a vacuum tube sound to their signal chain.I did deduct a star simply because of the stray lead that was rattling around the unit. It's a simple manufacturing mistake, but it could lead to potential shorts within. The unit was simple enough to remove the robust rubber feet and slide the circuit board out of the casing and remove the stray cutting.Overall this is a nice piece of equipment otherwise.Note: i am trying to update the images to show the stray lead, but the image keeps disappearing.

If you are looking for an affordable microphone preamp with warm tube sound, this is exactly what you are looking for.The building quality is better than I expected. The metal case feels durable. It's pretty light as well, friendly for people like me who need to bring audio recording equipment everywhere to work. The sound quality is what surprised me the most. I don't think you can find any other real tube preamp that can do a better job in this price range or even higher price tier.It has a very 3-dimensional tube sound that I can only find on higher-end preamps. It has low noise and no peaking if I turn on the drive (thanks to the limiter).I think it pairs very well with both condenser microphones and dynamic microphones. So if you are a singer/musician like me, game streamer, or postcast host, this is the unit that can help to make your voice sound more organic.
