To be entirely honest, I can't give a super accurate review on these files as this is my first set and I don't have a lot of experience with these sorts of things (though not through lack of want!). What I can say, though, is that they seem to be quite nice. The grip is comfortable in my hand and doesn't have too much bend to it, and the files can at the very least file 440A stainless steel pretty comfortably. I used them to restore a chef's cleaver whose blade was looking rather bashed (rolled edges, chipping, the works) and it only took a few minutes with the file to clean it right up to the point I could use my oilstones on it to hone the edge (had previously tried just using an 80 grit stone, to no avail). I'd say while they're probably not old school Nicholson files, at the very least, they're a good starter set, as they're affordably priced with a good variety and a nice case for them. Only reason I'm not giving a full five stars is a few files had wood chips in them. Only took a moment to clean them out, though.
